This girl is trying to convince herself that she's a 'hustler' and 'entrepreneur' and capable of building a brand. In reality she sounds like a sorority girl who spent her college years getting drunk, hooking up, partying, and going on vacations with her friends while getting by with a degree in "communications". She likely didn't take any time to develop contacts, do meaningful internships, or expose herself to professional environments. And now she's freaking out because it's time to "adult" but she does not have any actual skills or experiences to show for herself. This is the problem with 99% of college students. They assume college is one long party instead of a significant precursor to the rest of their lives. And now they are out of school with debt, spending their days in their childhood bedroom looking through Instagram at posers, because they falsely believe that "success" is supposed to be the ability to flash cash, drive sports cars, and own designer items. In reality, success is the ability to humbly build a career and slowly grow into financial prosperity that will extend throughout the rest of your life. I thank God that at 20 years old, I am graduating school with a 6 figure contract at one of the best companies in the world. Commuting every day, saving every dime, never partying or wasting time and money on fleeting pleasures helped me focus on studying something useful, working for 6 companies, and developing a professional network. You are not going to see this 20 year old enviously looking at trust fund babies on instagram because my vision of success is much more long-lasting and stable than that. Peace.
Actually it is possible to become a millionaire in 3 years or less believe it or not, athletes, rappers, entrepreneurs etc do it. And i seen it. The reason gary told her it's impossible to become rich/millionaire by 25 is because it took him more than 3 years to become a millionaire.
Gary I would like to have a conversation with you on the phone, I promise I won’t waste your time. I’m 16 and planning to build a business. I have serious questions and I will not waste your time. Just 5 minutes.
At the end of our lives we're not going to look back with joy at all the money we've made and the ten thousand hours we've put in. We're going to look back on all the times with friends and family and wish we had more.
This was so good, I'm 18 and always said how I wanted to be on Forbes' Top 30 under 30 but when he said to her that she wouldn't be a millionaire by 25 because she wasn't even working towards that goal and that she needed to enjoy the process of getting there, I needed to hear all of this! Love the honesty and tough love!
Ever thought of working for a multinational Fortune 500 company? and thought it's difficult to get ahead of competition? Well, this is true indeed, but possible. I landed a high paid top graduate job after university and am now happy to share my story, explain my journey from the moment I applied to getting an offer. And yes, won't make it secretive, I work for Shell - the major Oil and Gas player and top 5 largest corporation in the world. Please check my latest video where I explain in details how YOU can also get a job there. Hope you find it useful !
He has some good points like “every minute you spend looking at what somebody else has you waste a minute we’re you could’ve created something” BUT advising a young adult to basically have NO FUN to become rich and successful later on is the worst thing I’ve ever heard. Let me tell you what: you won’t gain back the time you lost hustling 24/7 and money won’t make you happy it gives freedom and comfort bc you will get used to all the stuff you can buy and if what you’re doing isn’t like your 100% passion you’ll be very miserable
Oh my God. That shit about living a fake world to yourself is so applicable. Goddamn this is the kind of straight forward, clean cut advice I didn't know I needed. I mean, motivation is bullshit, but things like these are nice reminders. Thanks for sharing this Gary. Tons of resounding one liners.
Good advice but this guy's work philosophy is disturbingly unhealthy. Sure, if you wanna achieve big things, hard work is mandatory. But the whole thing about how she took out more free time in one weekend than he did in his entire 20s, that's just straight out messed up.
Go out with friends, explore nature, enjoy your youth. Sure don't go overboard and go drink every weekend, try to find a balance because.. really.. Who the fuck wants a lot of money and cars if you missed out your entire youth for it? This guy is gonna die in his office if he keeps going like this.
FIND BALANCE. Enjoy your time on earth :)
I am 20 and lately I have been stressing over my self worth alot .As how I am nowhere close to where I am supposed to be.Suddenly I have started getting jealous over people's success.I want to achieve so much and I am stressing over the slowing process.
This video popped up in my recommendation out of blue and I would say I am glad.I heard him for the first time, wouldn't lie he cusses alot but damn if he doesn't tell the exact brutal truth that hits you.I guess I learnt two things -
1.Not to compete with people but yourself.
2.Enjoy the process, success is round the corner.
This video has certainly given me a vision and i will pursue to it.Thanks !
Ok so lets get this straight.... your family runs a successful wine business you work in it as a wine taster or critic then social media comes in and you promote that already successful business into a more successful business, then you work out people worship the words of the rich so you capitalize on that. Ironic how your advice to this girl in not looking at what others have is the very reason you're who you're. If you started from nothing come back and talk to me otherwise Shhhhh.... you haven't said anything most parents wouldn't say... "Hard work gets results" never heard that before!?
I am in tears. I wish someone was this harsh to me and made me face reality.
my family treated me like a special little snowflake, but when adulthood happened...
I was shocked by the amount of hard work you need to bring on the table to make a dent on that thing called success.
thank you for the short interview session with Draw With Jazza. it blew my mind.
This guy strikes me as super salty because he wasted his 20's working 14 hours a day. No person with respect for themselves and their health would ever waste so much of their life working. Work to live folks, don't live to work.
Some notes I took during this episode
Macro patience, micro progress
Don’t chase fast cash
Learn the discipline that will allow you to ignore bullshit on social media
Don’t admire flashy IG people- they live off your admiration
Obvious that Taylor’s mind is playing tricks on her (bullshitting herself), try not to do this.
WORK- and LEARN
Only in a competition w/ yourself
I’m impatience and need to stop comparing myself to others
Hope they can help you!
Hi y'all. We should stop putting ourselves in competition. Not everyone will become a millionaire. Stop talking about success, what is this? Making it better than other people?
We can have a better world for everybody, no need to put pressure upon us to get millions, check out Resource based economy as in The Venus Project videos. We can all live better !
You all know I have no problem working all night, and after all the apologies, I assured Anastasia it wasnt a problem, and we worked till midnight, with Anastasia emerging as another early candidate for Miss Bald USA.
