Top tourist attractions in Los Angeles
Visiting attractions in the very spread-out city of Los Angeles can be a challenge. The city is so sprawling that several tourist spots popularly associated with the city are actually in neighboring counties. Disneyland, for example, is in Orange County. A Top 10 list can only scratch the surface of what Los Angeles has to offer. There are quirky museums, famous graves, hipster shopping and offbeat art galore, plus world-class sports and entertainment venues such as the Staples Center and the Hollywood Bowl. But there are several highlights you should hit first to get a taste of the total LA experience. #5: Venice Beach- Venice Beach (venicebeach.com) is a seaside neighborhood of Los Angeles. Plenty of stars have lived in this bohemian enclave, but they're almost an afterthought here. The place is best known for its canals and its beachside promenade, where various kinds of street performers from fortunetellers to BMX bikers entertain onlookers at all hours. Venice Beach is also home to Muscle Beach, where bodybuilders show their stuff, as well as numerous beach volleyball and basketball courts. Surfers frequent the nearby breakwater, and murals adorn many of the beachside buildings. All in all, it's a vibrant slice of life in LA. #4: The Getty Museum- One of the newer landmarks in Los Angeles, the J. Paul Getty Museum (getty.edu) opened its main branch, the Getty Center, in Pacific Palisades in 1997 and its smaller cousin, the Getty Villa in Malibu, in 2006. The Villa houses an extensive collection of Greek and Roman art and is itself modeled after a seaside Roman villa. The Center houses a comprehensive collection of Western art from medieval times to the present, with particular strengths in alchemical texts, Italian futurism, Russian Modernism, Japanese avant-garde art and artists' letters and sketchbooks throughout the ages. The Center's campus features numerous garden spaces, fountains and pools as well as outdoor sculptures. #3: Universal Studios- Most of the big movie studios have relocated into the LA suburbs. Not so with Universal Studios (universalstudioshollywood.com). Instead, they turned their Hollywood location into a theme park. The location is still a working movie studio, and you can take a daily tour to watch filming in action. Afterward, take a movie-themed thrill ride or two, then visit CityWalk, the shopping and dining promenade. #2: Grauman's Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame- Grauman's Chinese Theatre (chinesetheatres.com), true to its name, is an ornate confection of bronze, silk, coral and stone. A sinuous dragon graces the facade and "heaven dogs" imported from China flank the main entrance. The theater opened in 1927 and has become the opening night launchpad for every Hollywood blockbuster-to-be. "The Chinese," as it's nicknamed, still hosts first-run movies as well as a series of classic Hollywood films for only 25 cents a ticket. You can also take a scheduled tour that runs several times a day. In the forecourt of the theater you will find the handprints and footprints of famous stars from every era of Hollywood embedded in concrete blocks. These prints are often confused with the Walk of Fame (walkoffame.com), which features bronze stars commemorating various celebrities and which passes by the theater along Hollywood Boulevard #1: The Hollywood Sign- The Hollywood Sign (hollywoodsign.org) is easily recognized around the world as a symbol for Los Angeles as a whole and its entertainment industry in particular. It was built in 1923 as a giant ad for a housing development that never, well, developed. You cannot approach the sign on foot -- it's illegal -- but there are plenty of vantage points nearby from which you can get a great view. Try the intersection of Hollywood and Highland or the nearby Griffith Park Observatory.

MyDrivelapse.com and Takemytrip.com provide driving videos and stories to help you plan your trip. Check out hundreds of videos on my YouTube channel. Subscribe if you like it! Dozens of new videos are on the way in the coming weeks. I made this trip in March, 2016. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera, mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens). LA Explorer Jarod Millsap takes you to various points of interest in Los Angeles and beyond in this series of short videos meant to bring the best of LA to you, wherever you are, and to inspire you to get out here and HAVE SOME FUN!!! Please enjoy. If you would like to get as close as legally possible for the common man to the HOLLYWOOD Sign, then this video is for you. I start at Lake Hollywood Park, which features a beautiful overlook (title overlook from the Michael Connelly novel) that is different from the one that you see on Hollywood sightseeing tours. What To Do In Hollywood - 5 Must See Attractions!
What To Do In Hollywood blog post can be found here: http://www.americantravelgeek.com/what-to-do-in-hollywood/ When you think of LA, Hollywood is probably the image that comes to mind. Like Times Square, it is an incredibly popular tourist destination that has a lot of action. It is probably the most noteworthy spot to see as a tourist in LA. In this video, I go over what to do in Hollywood, giving you 5 must-see attractions when you go! Firstly, you need to check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It features stars imprinted on the ground, honoring famous actors, musicians, directors, and more. The Walk of Fame is very long so make sure to figure out the stars you want to see and their location beforehand. Second are the Dolby and Chinese Theatres, also located on Hollywood Blvd. The Dolby Theatre is where the Oscars take place and they offer guided tours. Meanwhile, the Chinese Theatre is the site of film festivals and movie premieres. Here you can do a VIP tour or see a movie. Third on the list is the Griffith Observatory, located up in the Hollywood Hills. Here you can get panoramic views of Downtown LA, the Hollywood sign, and the surrounding areas. It is also a planetarium and can get very busy, especially around sunset. Fourth is to do a celebrity homes tour. Ultimate Hollywood Tours offers a 2-hour tour where they take you through the Hollywood Hills and Beverly Hills. Some celebrity homes you get to see include Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and Justin Timberlake. Last but not least is to get a picture with the Hollywood sign. While there are a number of good vantage points, the best is Lake Hollywood Park, recommended to me by an LA local. Overall. Hollywood is a must-see while in LA. And when you are thinking about what to do in Hollywood, there are other great options too like touring a movie studio or visiting a live tv set. ●●● VIEW THE BLOG POST: ●●● http://www.americantravelgeek.com/what-to-do-in-hollywood/ ●●● SUBSCRIBE ON YOUTUBE: ●●● https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzJu97739zXD7tLiszEhRbQ?sub_confirmation=1 ●●● FOLLOW ME HERE: ●●● Blog: http://www.americantravelgeek.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/americantravelgeek Twitter: https://twitter.com/AmerTravelGeek Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/americantravelgeek Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.ca/americantravelgeek Tumblr: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/americantravelgeek Mix: https://mix.com/americantravelgeek

Hollywood Sign sunset view from a helicopter
One of the most desirable places to visit in Los Angeles is the Hoollywood Sign, but other than what you think is not so easy to see the sign up close, it is in the middle of the mountains and you need to look for some points to get a good sight of it. A good Way to pass close to the sign is by a helicopter tour, for sure is a very cool ride to do in LA. Runyon Canyon Park - Los Angeles, CA
It's hard to believe? Runyon Canyon Park is located right by Hollywood! It's a great place for workout and short hikes to explore nature. It also offers a dog park, so pet friendly environment. Trails are moderately steep, and some are very steep, but short. You can choose paved or dirt trails, and also loop or through hike. Like Griffith Park, this is a very popular park among walkers and runners. So, you won't be alone on the trail. There are a few different entrances depending on where you want to start....from Fuller Ave or Vista St on Hollywood side, or from Mulholland Dr on the north side of the park. West Ridge trail is the steepest and East Ridge is moderately steep. You can loop around both ridges or hike the paved route which runs through between the two ridges. Views along the trails, Vista points/Inspiration Point and from Indian Rock which is the highest point of the park are spectacular....Hollywood sign, Griffith Park and overlooking Hollywood, DTLA and as far as Parlos Verdes, Santa Monica Mountains and Pacific Ocean to the south as well as San Gabriel mountains and beyond to the north. Outdoor Yoga class is offered in the park. Parking can be tough as you have to park on the street. Read the sign before you park!

Descending From The Top of Hollywood Hills, Ghost of "OUTLOOK" Sign, Walk of fame, Sunset Strip Tour
This is a drive by tour of the street in the hills above Hollywood Blvd. Skyline Sunglasses Los Angeles: http://amzn.to/2p2xAY9 GTA V drive around Los Angeles: http://amzn.to/2oyfSLn Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Driving video game: http://amzn.to/2ozEPFb Eventually you hit Hollywood Walk of Fame and then Sunset strip in West Hollywood. As you see the streets in the hills, although desirable to live on, are pretty pathetic, especially those that have no city view. This street is called Outlook and it had a big "OUTLOOK" sign on top of the hill. The Outlook sign was more glamorous than the Hollywood Sign and had neon lights. The Hollywood Sign doesn't have any lights and is dark at night. Watch my Runyon Canyon video and if that hike is for you, take East trail, and you can find the laying down rusted out OUTLOOK letters and wiggle them with your hands or use them as picnic tables. As you see, there are little tour buses running up and down this street, taking tourists to the celebrity home tours and observation points along Mulholland Drive. There are better sources to read about the Walk of Fame and Sunset strip, but you can see those landmarks in this video. This is a Los Angeles California Dashcam show. Subscribe!

Hiking at "Runyon Canyon Park", Hollywood CA
Video of my recent visit to Runyon Canyon. Very nice place to Hike at Hollywood Hills, if you don't mind people and dogs, since usually is more crowded than most hiking places, but still a good place to excercise with diferent trails and levels depends of which one you choose to go. Runyon Canyon is a 160-acre park smack dab in the heart of everything - a stone's throw away from the historic Hollywood strip and other amazing landmarks that make this one of the greatest cities on the planet. Runyon Canyon not only offers the best hiking trails in Los Angeles, breathtaking views of the city, an amazing dog park for your four-legged friend but it also offers free daily yoga classes with professional instructors, your favorite celebrities and an atmosphere that anyone can enjoy. This seen-and-be-seen Hollywood hangout is filled with the most beautiful sights and people in the city of Los Angeles as well as unforgettable scenery guaranteed to make memories that will last a lifetime. Runyon Canyon park is better than a gym to get in shape quickly and can accommodate any training level, a great way to wind down from a grueling day at work and the perfect free weekend getaway. With so much to do and see at Runyon Canyon, it's time to plan your visit today, make sure to bring your pup along and never forget a camera.

2017 Los Angeles Driving Tour: Only The Best! Beverly Hills' Nicest Homes & Fashion Stores
Skyline Sunglasses Los Angeles: http://amzn.to/2p2xAY9 111 Places in Los Angeles That You Must GTA V drive around Los Angeles: http://amzn.to/2oyfSLn Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Driving video game: http://amzn.to/2ozEPFb 2017 Mulhollan Drive is a street and road in the eastern Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California. It is named after pioneering Los Angeles civil engineer William Mulholland. The western rural portion in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties is named Mulholland Highway. The road is featured in innumerable movies, songs, and novels. David Lynch, who wrote and directed a film named after Mullholland Drive, has said that one can feel "the history of Hollywood" on it. History The main portion of the road, from Cahuenga Pass opened in 1924. It was built by a consortium of developers investing in the Hollywood Hills. DeWitt Reaburn, the construction engineer responsible for the project, said while it was being built, "The Mulholland Highway is destined to be one of the heaviest traveled and one of the best known scenic roads in the United States The 21-mile (34 km) long mostly two-lane, minor arterial road loosely follows the ridgeline of the eastern Santa Monica Mountains and the Hollywood Hills, connecting two sections of U.S. Route 101, and crossing Sepulveda Boulevard, Beverly Glen Boulevard, Coldwater Canyon Avenue, Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Nichols Canyon Road, and Outpost Drive. The road offers spectacular views[5] of the Los Angeles Basin, the San Fernando Valley, and the Hollywood Sign. Mulholland Drive is home to some of the most exclusive and most expensive homes in the world. Many of these homes are set back from the road and offer outstanding views of downtown Los Angeles. Route A Mulholland Drive street sign in a residential neighborhood in Woodland Hills. The eastern terminus of Mulholland Drive is at its intersection with Cahuenga Boulevard at the Cahuenga Pass over the Santa Monica Mountains (at this point Cahuenga Boulevard runs parallel to Highway 101/The Hollywood Freeway). The road continues to the west, offering vistas of the Hollywood Sign, downtown Los Angeles, and then Burbank, Universal City, and the rest of the San Fernando Valley with the San Gabriel, Verdugo, and Santa Susana Mountains. The road winds along the top of the mountains until a few miles west of the San Diego/Interstate 405 Freeway. Just west of the intersection with Encino Hills Drive, it becomes an unpaved road not open to motor vehicles. This part is known by many as "Dirt Mulholland". This portion connects with other unpaved roads and bike trails and allows access to a decommissioned Project Nike command post that is now a Cold War memorial park. The road opens again east of Topanga Canyon Boulevard (State Route 27) at Santa Maria Road but remains dirt until it reaches Saltillo Street. Shortly thereafter, the thoroughfare splits into Mulholland Drive and Mulholland Highway. Mulholland Drive terminates at U.S. Highway 101 (the Ventura Freeway), where it becomes Valley Circle Boulevard. Mulholland Highway continues to the southwest until it terminates at State Route 1 (PCH) in Leo Carrillo State Park at the Pacific Ocean coast and the border of Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The "Rodeo Collection," a 45 store, 70,000 square foot shopping mall opened in 1983 at 421 N. Rodeo Drive. The building is only four stories high with the first floor below street level in order to satisfy local building codes. The retail space initially leased for as much as $120 per square foot, which, according to an executive with commercial real estate firm Julien J. Studley, was "the highest price for any kind of space in the Los Angeles Area." Two Rodeo Drive, another outdoor shopping center, was built in 1990. It initially housed, amongst other stores, Christian Dior and Valentino. The original developer, Douglas Stitzel, sold the property for about $200 million immediately after its completion, The shopping center was hard-hit by the early 1990s recession, with occupancy rates dropping to as low as 60%, and the buyers sold it at an almost $70 million loss in 2000.  By 2007 the property was financially stable again and was sold to a group of Irish investors for $275 million. It resembles a “faux-European shopping Disneyland." French fashion firm Lanvin opened a store on Rodeo in 2011 local customers & international tourists accounting for the balance, lending some credence to Rodeo Drive's reputation as an internationally renowned shopping Walk of Style Bottega Venetta, Lacoste, De Beers, David Yurman, Salvatore Ferragamo, Rodeo Drive Walk "Torso" sculpture featured on Rodeo, California, David Lynch, Mulholland Drive, Hollywood, Los Angeles Driving Tour, Luxury Mulholland Estates Homes, Beverly Hills Fashion Shopping Streets, Bottega Venetta, Lacoste, This is a Los Angeles California driving trsvel tour channel. Runyon Canyon Park
Living in a city has benefits aplenty - lots of bars, restaurants and people to meet. Another thing cities have more than enough of is concrete. This abundance of pavement makes it tough to find grassy areas to enjoy outdoor activities like running, walking or simply parking it on the ground with a good book. Among active people, a common complaint about living in a city is that there's nowhere to work out other than a crowded gym. Running or walking on the street or sidewalks in a busy city can be dangerous or sometimes not even an option. There's more than enough concrete here in Los Angeles, but right in the middle of Hollywood there's a great place to get a workout and a sunburn at the same time. A few blocks north of the Walk of Fame sits Runyon Canyon Park. Be sure to visit thesevensees.com
