Detailing Oracle CPU Consumption: The Missing Link - Seminar Introduction

05:23
Detailing Oracle CPU Consumption: The Missing Link helps Oracle Database Administrators answer this question, "What's Oracle doing with all that CPU?" For details go to http://www.orapub.com/video-seminar-detailing-cpu-consumption Here's the problem: While Oracle has the world's most advanced database wait time instrumentation, Oracle does NOT instrument CPU consumption. This presents the Oracle DBA with a tuning handicap because CPU consumption can be a significant component of database time. The unintentional result can be solutions with a wait time bias and solution guessing. In this session you will learn how to determine where Oracle is consuming CPU down to the Oracle kernel code function level and how this relates to the broader performance situation. Now you will be able to more effectively develop solutions to reduce both CPU consumption and wait time. Important: The solution created to solve the CPU detail limitation is Linux based. While I'm confident there are very similar solutions in other operating systems, I do not explore this. What You Will Learn - How to answer the question, "Is that process doing anything or stuck?" - How to answer the question, "So what is Oracle doing with all that CPU?" - How to overcome the problem of understanding limitation when there is little wait time but lots of CPU time. - Finding the Oracle kernel function when there could be a possible bug. - Helping you understand what Oracle is doing, "under the hood." Modules - The problem and what to do about it - My journey to find a solution - Creating the solution based on the Linux "perf" tools - Examples of how to use the tool in production situations For information on how you can watch the whole seminar or for more great eduction from OraPub, go to www.orapub.com

Oracle Linux Server Release 7.0 x86_64.

24:30
Oracle Linux Server Release 7.0 x86_64. Oracle Linux, formerly known as Oracle Enterprise Linux, is a Linux distribution based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), repackaged and freely distributed by Oracle, available under the GNU General Public License (GPL) since late 2006. Oracle Linux can be downloaded through Oracle's E-delivery service or from a variety of mirror sites, and can be deployed and distributed without cost. Commercial technical support is available through Oracle's Oracle Linux Support program, which supports Oracle Linux, and existing RHEL or CentOS installations (i.e. without reinstallation). As of 2013, Oracle Linux has over 11,000 customers subscribed to the support program. Oracle Corporation distributes Oracle Linux with two alternative kernels: Red Hat Compatible Kernel - identical to the kernel shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK) - based on newer mainline Linux kernel versions, with Oracle's own enhancements for OLTP, InfiniBand, and SSD disk access, NUMA-optimizations, Reliable Datagram Sockets (RDS), async I/O, OCFS2, and networking. Oracle claims that the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel is compatible with RHEL, and that Oracle middleware and third-party RHEL-certified applications can install and run unchanged on the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel. For users requiring strict compatibility with Red Hat or for users running kernel modules dependent on specific kernel versions, the Red Hat Compatible Kernel offers 100% compatibility with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Oracle Linux is used as the underlying operating system for the following appliances: Oracle Exadata Oracle Exalogic Oracle Big Data Appliance Oracle Exalytics Oracle Database Appliance

How To Install & Configure Docker On A Windows Server 2019 Hyper-V Virtual Machine

09:26
A Step By Step Guide for Installing And Configuring Docker on a Hyper-V Virtual Machine running Windows Server 2019 Standard Edition. Learn How To Install And Configure Docker On A Windows Server 2019 Hyper-V Virtual Machine. Virtualization is the process of creating a virtual instance of a system, in a higher layer, abstracted from the physical hardware. The five different types of Virtualization include Application, Desktop, Hardware, Network & Storage. HyperVisors drive the concept of Virtualization by enabling a physical host to run multiple virtual machines as guests. Application Virtualization - is the process where applications are virtualized on a server then delivered to a user’s mobile devices such as laptops, phones & tablets. Users are able to access applications right on their device no matter their physical location. Desktop Virtualization - is the process where the desktop environment is separated from the physical device. Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) makes use of host-based VMs to deliver virtual desktops. A major advantage of desktop virtualization is allowing users to access their personal files & applications from any PC. Hardware Virtualization - is the process of abstracting away all of a computers resources from the software that uses those resources. At it's a core is a "Virtual Machine Manager" commonly referred to as a "HyperVisor". It is responsible for creating Virtual Machines (VMs) that are separated from the underlying hardware resources. Network Virtualization - is the process of combining all of the Physical Networking resources into a single software based resource. It is better defined as the ability to create Logical or Virtual Networks that are separated from the underlying Network Hardware. This software based Virtual Network provides an intelligent layer of abstraction while the underlying Physical Network devices are primarily responsible for the transmission of packets. Storage Virtualization - is the process of pooling multiple Physical Storage Arrays into a single Virtual Storage Device that is managed from a Central Console. Thus, the Storage Management software is separated from it's underlying Hardware Infrastructure and provides greater flexibility, scalability, redundancy & performance. One advantage is Data Replication, which works at the Storage SubSystem Layer and is completely transparent to Attached Hosts & Virtual Machines. HyperVisors are the actual processes that separate the operating systems & applications from the underlying physical hardware. HyperVisors leverage & maximize the effective use of physical resources such as Memory, Networks, Processors and Storage. The two types of HyperVisors are aptly named Type 1 & Type 2. Type 1 hypervisors are sometimes referred to as “native” or “bare metal” HyperVisors. They run directly on a physical host’s thereby controlling it's hardware and managing the guest VMs. The three (3) big names in the "Bare Metal" hypervisor space are Citrix XenServer, Microsoft HyperV & VMware ESX/ESXi. Type 2 hypervisors are sometimes referred to as “hosted” HyperVisors. They require a modern OS much like other user & system applications. These HyperVisors isolate the guest VMs from the host OS by running them as processes on the host. The three (3) big names in the "Hosted" hypervisor space are Parallels, Oracle Virtual Box & VMware Workstation If you enjoy our videos, then please Like & Share. www.tanhacomputer.blogspot.com Ubuntu is an open source operating system for computers. It is a Linux distribution based on the Debian architecture. It is usually run on personal computers, and is also popular on network servers, usually running the Ubuntu Server variant, with enterprise-class features. Ubuntu runs on the most popular architectures, including Intel, AMD, and ARM-based machines. Ubuntu is also available for tabletsand smartphones, with the Ubuntu Touch edition. Ubuntu is published by Canonical Ltd, who offer commercial support.[4] It is based on free software and named after the Southern African philosophy of ubuntu, which Canonical Ltd. suggests can be loosely translated as "humanity to others" or "I am what I am because of who we all are".[5] Ubuntu is the most popular operating system running in hosted environments, so–called "clouds",[6] as it is the most popular server Linux distribution. Development of Ubuntu is led by UK-based Canonical Ltd., a company founded by South African entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth. Canonical generates revenue through the sale of technical support and other services related to Ubuntu The Ubuntu project is publicly committed to the principles of open-source software development; people are encouraged to use free software, study how it works, improve upon it, and distribute it Features A default installation of Ubuntu contains a wide range of software that includes LibreOffice, Firefox, Thunderbird, Transmission, and several lightweight games such as Sudoku and chess.[30][31] Many additional software packages are accessible from the built in Ubuntu Software Center as well as any other APT-based package management tools. Many additional software packages that are no longer installed by default, such as Evolution, GIMP, Pidgin, and Synaptic, are still accessible in the repositories, installable with the built in Ubuntu Software Center; or by any other APT-based package management tool and Snappy. Ubuntu operates under the GNU General Public License (GPL) and all of the application software installed by default is free software. In addition, Ubuntu installs some hardware drivers that are available only in binary format, but such packages are clearly marked in the restricted component.[32] Installation Ubuntu running on the Nexus S, a smartphone that ran Android prior to Ubuntu The system requirements vary among Ubuntu products. For the Ubuntu desktop release 16.04 LTS, a PC with at least 2 GHz dual-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 25 GB of free disk space is recommended.[40][41] For less powerful computers, there are other Ubuntu distributions such as Lubuntu and Xubuntu. Since version 12.04, Ubuntu supports the ARM architecture.[2][42][43][44][45] Ubuntu is also available on Power,[2][46][47][48] older PowerPC architecture was at one point unofficial supported,[49] and now newer Power Architecture CPUs (POWER8) are supported. Live images are the typical way for users to assess and subsequently install Ubuntu. These can be downloaded as a disk image (.iso) and subsequently burnt to a DVD and booted, or run via UNetbootin directly from a USB drive (making, respectively, a live DVD or live USB medium). Running Ubuntu in this way is typically slower than running it from a hard drive, but does not alter the computer unless specifically instructed by the user. If the user chooses to boot the live image rather than execute an installer at boot time, there is still the option to then use an installer called Ubiquity to install Ubuntu once booted into the live environment.[50] Disk images of all current and past versions are available for download at the Ubuntu web site.[51] Various third-party programs such as remastersys and Reconstructor are available to create customized copies of the Ubuntu Live DVDs (or CDs). "Minimal CDs" are available (for server use) that fit on a CD. Additionally, USB flash drive installations can be used to boot Ubuntu and Kubuntu in a way that allows permanent saving of user settings and portability of the USB-installed system between physical machines (however, the computers' BIOS must support booting from USB).[52] In newer versions of Ubuntu, the Ubuntu Live USB creator can be used to install Ubuntu on a USB drive (with or without a live CD or DVD). Creating a bootable USB drive with persistence is as simple as dragging a slider to determine how much space to reserve for persistence; for this, Ubuntu employs casper.[53][54] The desktop edition can also be installed using the Netboot image (a.k.a. netboot tarball) which uses the debian-installer and allows certain specialist installations of Ubuntu: setting up automated deployments, upgrading from older installations without network access, LVM or RAID partitioning, installs on systems with less than about 256 MB of RAM (although low-memory systems may not be able to run a full desktop environment reasonably)

When burning a DVD from an ISO file, if you are told the disc image file is too large you will need to use Dual Layer (DL) DVD Media. Check a few things on the PC where you want to install Windows 10: 64-bit or 32-bit processor (CPU). You’ll create either a 64-bit or 32-bit version of Windows 10. To check this on your PC, go to PC info in PC settings or System in Control Panel, and look for System type. System requirements. Make sure the PC meets the system requirements for Windows 10. We also recommend going to the PC manufacturer's website for additional info about updated drivers and hardware compatibility. Language in Windows. You'll need to choose the same language when you install Windows 10. To see what language you're currently using, go to Time and language in PC settings or Region in Control Panel. Microcontrollers SPARC

01:46
Microcontrollers SPARCMany modern microcontrollers manufactured in Russia, for instance, MCST, have a SPARC architecture. This architecture was developed by Sun Microsystems in 1985.SPAC stands for Scalable Processor ARChitecture. SPARC architecture is open source. The list of all commands was published as the IEEE 1754-1994 standard. This is why individuals and various legal entities can develop solutions based on this type of architecture. To produce processors with a SPARC architecture one simply needs to purchase a licence for this command code architecture from SPARC International Inc. It costs $99. Then you can develop your own realisation or buy a ready made one. The latter variant is bit more expensive. The main peculiarities of this architecture are as follows. Several operations can be carried out simultaneously. It is highly economical. An MCST-4R processor has the frequency of 1 GHz at a power consumption of no more than 10 W. The number of simultaneous operations is up to 23.As of June 2009 a Fujitsu Laboratories processor Venus SPARC64 VIII fx could handle up to 128 000 000 000 floating-point operations per second (128 GFLOPS).Thus, the open source SPARC technologies allow creating computer systems with a world-class computing speed.
