SQL SERVER PART-12: Oracle Linked Database Server

03:46
HOW TO CREATE LINKED SERVER AND HOW TO QUERY ORACLE DATABASE FROM SQL SERVER MANAGEMENT STUDIO. SQL server 2017 makes it easy to configure linked server. You can use open-query to get or manipulate data of linked server database. CONFIGURATION SUMMARY: PROVIDER : oracle provider for oledb. DATA SOURCE : It is usually a combination of oracle server IP: port number/t.n.s listener name. e.g. 192.168.1.10:5121/orcl OPEN QUERY : select * form openquery(linked_server_name, ' sql query statement ') Configure a linked server to enable the SQL Server Database Engine to execute commands against OLE DB data sources outside of the instance of SQL Server. Typically linked servers are configured to enable the Database Engine to execute a Transact-SQL statement that includes tables in another instance of SQL Server, or another database product such as Oracle. Many types OLE DB data sources can be configured as linked servers, including Microsoft Access and Excel. Linked servers offer the following advantages: • The ability to access data from outside of SQL Server. • The ability to issue distributed queries, updates, commands, and transactions on heterogeneous data sources across the enterprise. • The ability to address diverse data sources similarly. An oracle linked server require OLE DB provider. An OLE DB provider is a DLL that manages and interacts with a specific data source. If your oracle database is not in same server then you have to install The Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC) for Windows consists of Oracle client side drivers. An OLE DB data source identifies the specific database that can be accessed through OLE DB. Although data sources queried through linked server definitions are ordinarily databases, OLE DB providers exist for a variety of files and file formats. These include text files, spreadsheet data, and the results of full-text content searches. Typically, linked servers are used to handle distributed queries. When a client application executes a distributed query through a linked server, SQL Server parses the command and sends requests to OLE DB. The row set request may be in the form of executing a query against the provider or opening a base table from the provider.

Quickstart: Getting Started with Oracle and .NET

08:56
New to Oracle and .NET development? This video gives you everything you need to know to get up and running quickly! We walk you through downloading and installing the needed Oracle software and then connecting in Visual Studio and creating a simple C# application. The video starts at the Oracle .NET Developer Technology Center website at http://otn.oracle.com/dotnet We then download the "ODTwithODAC" package, extract it and run the installer. Note that ODAC version 12 works with Oracle Database versions 10.2 or higher. After installing we connect in Server Explorer and learn about the connection dialog features, including the Filters tab which by default filters out additional schemas you may have privileges on. We connect to the database using the easy to use EZ connect format. Finally we create a simple C# application and connect to the database using ODP.NET Managed driver and a EZ Config connect string. Prerequisites: 1) Visual Studio 2012 or 2013 -- any edition except Express Edition. Visual Studio Community Edition is supported. 2) An Oracle Database to connect to. You will need to know the hostname, port number and service name of the database. During the video we install: Oracle Data Provider for .NET Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio Oracle .NET Samples Oracle .NET Documentation

#1- Error ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

02:54
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified Cause: A connection to a database or other service was requested using a connect identifier, and the connect identifier specified could not be resolved into a connect descriptor using one of the naming methods configured. For example, if the type of connect identifier used was a net service name then the net service name could not be found in a naming method repository, or the repository could not be located or reached. Action: - If you are using local naming (TNSNAMES.ORA file): - Make sure that "TNSNAMES" is listed as one of the values of the NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH parameter in the Oracle Net profile (SQLNET.ORA) - Verify that a TNSNAMES.ORA file exists and is in the proper directory and is accessible. - Check that the net service name used as the connect identifier exists in the TNSNAMES.ORA file. - Make sure there are no syntax errors anywhere in the TNSNAMES.ORA file. Look for unmatched parentheses or stray characters. Errors in a TNSNAMES.ORA file may make it unusable. - If you are using directory naming: - Verify that "LDAP" is listed as one of the values of the NAMES.DIRETORY_PATH parameter in the Oracle Net profile (SQLNET.ORA). - Verify that the LDAP directory server is up and that it is accessible. - Verify that the net service name or database name used as the connect identifier is configured in the directory. - Verify that the default context being used is correct by specifying a fully qualified net service name or a full LDAP DN as the connect identifier - If you are using easy connect naming: - Verify that "EZCONNECT" is listed as one of the values of the NAMES.DIRETORY_PATH parameter in the Oracle Net profile (SQLNET.ORA). - Make sure the host, port and service name specified are correct. - Try enclosing the connect identifier in quote marks. See the Oracle Net Services Administrators Guide or the Oracle operating system specific guide for more information on naming. my_database = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = my_host)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = my_database) ) ) #2- Erreur ORA 01034 ORACLE not available ORA 27101 shared memory realm does not exist HD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FU9N0V9Z8k

Follow this step by step tutorial to learn how to setup MySql ODBC driver for windows and how it is configured. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ ODBC stands for Open Database Connectivity. It is used to provide a connection for the database. It acts like a bridge between the database manager and the Operating System. With this driver installed and configured, we can use our database with various applications such as spreadsheets, reporting tools or various other software suits. In this tutorial we will learn to set up the same my sql ODBC driver Step 1- Download First, let's download my sql ODBC driver. It can be downloaded from dev.mysql.com. Over there, choose the version according to the operating system we are running. For this tutorial, we will be setting the ODBC MySQL driver in windows. Step 2- Installation After finishing with the download, run the setup for installation. Just follow the step by step process of the installation wizard to install the driver. Step 3- System Settings After the installation, we have to configure the connection. For that, open up the Control panel and click on the System and Security option. Step 4-Admin tools A window will open up with several options in it, open up the Administrative Tools option from there. Step 5-Data Source All of the Administrative tools would be displayed in a separate window. We have to setup our database connection, so for that click ODBC Data Sources option. Step 6- Adding System DSN A window will open up having different tabs in it. Choose System DSN tab and then click Add button on right. Step 7- Choosing ODBC option A window will open up having the list of ODBC drivers in it. As we have to configure our ODBC driver for MySQL, choose My SQL ODBC Driver option and click on Finish. Step 8-Configuring the Connection With that done, the odbc mysql configuration window will open up. In that window, give the data source a name, if MySQL instance is installed in the same pc in which we are setting up the ODBC driver, give "localhost" as a name of TCP IP server and leave the port as default. Give the appropriate user name for which you have granted access to your database, here let us assign "root" in user as it has access to all the databases by default and leave password field blank as root is configured with empty password by default. After that, we have to choose the required database which we want to be linked through this connection from the databases drop down menu in the bottom. After that, click OK button. Step 9- Connection Appeared In List The connection would appear in the System DSN Connections list. This connection basically contains the information of the server on which MySQL is installed and the database which has to be used. And this is how MySQL ODBC driver is setup in windows.

Cloud Computing Services Models - IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained

06:43
https://ecoursereview.com/cloud-computing-pros-and-cons-for-business-it/ 3 Types of Cloud Computing Services: IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained You Might Wonder – What Is Cloud Computer: #Cloudcomputing is a set of forms that contain certain elements that allows for on-demand, network access, scalability, and shared resources. It's a platform for managing, storing, and processing data online through the internet. Some of the cloud computing features include the following: - On-Demand Services – Available when you need it - Network Access – When using the internet as your medium - Shared Resources – All resources are gathered together and used by multiple customers - Scalability - The ability of a computer system to adapt to increasing demands The Three Delivery Models: Cloud computing provides different services based on three delivery configurations. When they are arranged in a pyramid structure, they are in the order of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. The Three Services: #SaaS - Software as a Service This service provides on-demand pay per use of the application software for users and is independent of a platform. You do not have to install software on your computer, unlike a license paid program. Cloud runs a single occurrence of the software, making it available for multiple end-users allowing the service to be cheap. Hiring good interns for your company is a lot more than just looking for a pair of hands to fetch you coffee and run a few errands. Interns could actually be the future of your company. Therefore it makes enough sense to hire workers who are smart and capable. In the past few years, there have been thousands of interns who were converted into full time workers. After all, these interns gather the needed experience to do well in your company. Looking for the best interns is definitely not an easy task. There are hundreds of traps and pitfalls you must learn to avoid while trying to hire talented people who can become the future of your company. On that note, here are some points you should always follow! Planning Planning is the first and most important step you must keep in mind when it comes to hiring interns. For this you will have to look up your sources and find more information so that the internship program can be more developed. You could start off by speaking to counterparts in your field or even other organizations to see how the programs have been structured. You could also get internship recruiting literature from several companies that already have programs that are well established. How will you design your program? After planning is done, here are a few things you should remember to do. It will help you design your program correctly • Create the description of the job first. Speak about the organization and outline all duties which are associated with the internship. • Mention the time and the length of the internship, the working hours and applicant selection criteria. Also write down the compensation. • Have a supervisor for each intern. This person should handle all projects that are assigned, work with the intern and provide enough training, answer all important questions and make sure they are accessible all the time to the interns. • Projects and assignments should be developed whenever it is possible. • Finally make sure the interns are getting enough support and training through mentoring programs. • Before you hire an intern, remember there should be a eligibility criteria so that students know whether they should apply or not. Get physical about the whole thing There is literally no better way to recruit more interns that going physical about the whole thing. Go to job fairs and visit college campuses. You could take a step down further and ask old interns if they can help you recruit new and better ones. Tag a few professors you know Professors are always willing to work hard and make sure that their most brilliant and bright students end up with an internship. They can also suggest you the same of some who can help you finding more interns. So make sure to stay in touch with all college professors. Start with the ones you have personally learnt from.
