The Plátanos En Mole Old Fashioned was created by Jim Meehan proprietor of PDT in New York City around 2010. The inspiration behind the drink was to capture the essence of the classic dessert in a cocktail and I personally think Mr. Meehan did a damned fine job. This drink was first served at the StarChefs.com International Chef's Congress at the Seventh Regiment Armory on Park Avenue in NYC. That's it! Enjoy the drink! Note: Many of you are going to ask me what other rums work in this drink and I am going to tell you that Zacapa 23 is the only way to go. This cocktail uses proprietary ingredients, so if you can't get ahold of Zacapa I apologize in advance. We are now into our second year of next generation classic auctions, with hundreds of new buyers and sellers, we feel that this sector is really expanding. Excellent prices have been achieved and clients have been giving us really positive feedback. A number of the motoring magazines and papers are also featuring more and more of these types of vehicles. This is an expanding investment marketplace and, with the likelihood that interest rates will remain low, it could be that now is a good time to sell or buy. No obligation, free appraisal - To discuss entering your vehicle in a future auction please contact Will Daniels or Toby Service on 01568 611122 or email [email protected]

Another one by Toby Maloney of the Violet Hour in Chicago! Mr. Maloney is known for his daring cocktail combinations and this is no exception! It's basically a Gin sour with the addition of Absinthe and Green Chartreuse two ingredients that I know at least half of you are giving the side eye and the other half are drooling over, but guys, this drink is worth it! Give it a shot and I guarantee it'll be on your regular rotation! So enjoy! I'm not going to write out all the particulars on Mr. Maloney's history and such as I did just a few episodes ago on Eeyore's Requiem. In association with Flanders Tourism. Simon and Matt go on a voyage aboard two cobbled classics bikes in this special edition of Retro Vs Modern! Subscribe to GCN: http://gcn.eu/SubscribeToGCN Get exclusive GCN gear in the GCN shop! http://gcn.eu/7O What do you think of the comparison? Let us know your thoughts on these two cobbled classics bikes in the comments below 👇 Ex-Professional cyclists Simon Richardson and Matt Stephens have a "classic" Retro Vs Modern bike special for you, including a battle up the infamous Muur van Geraardsbergen. Simon is riding the Colnago C40 of Johan Museuuw that he rode during his cobbled classics campaign in the year 2000. Matt is on board the Trek Domane of Yaroslav Popovych that was used in the spring classics of the 2016 season. The monocoque frame design of the Trek Domane features an IsoSpeed decoupler to aid comfort as well as doubling vertical compliance. A handy feature for the cobbled races is the integrated chainkeeper/catcher should the rough stuff throw your chain off! The Colnago C40 was and still is highly commended for it's comfort and also the stiffness due to the pro's edition receiving extra layers of carbon. Check out Simon's stretched out position, a true belgian classic hardman position, long and low! The terrain that the guys rode the bikes in was the Flemish Ardennes ideal for bikes of this nature! I haven't done too many highball drinks on this channel and I'm trying to get around to doing more. The Tarzan was created by Zachary Gelnaw Ruben while he was behind the stick at Dutch Kills in Long Island City. Dutch Kills is another Milk & Honey offshoot bar opened by Richard Boccato and Sasha Petraske in 2009. The name of the bar is a reference to the ancestral name of the neighborhood. The word "Kill" means "Creek" in Dutch whose settlers arrive to the area in 1643. The first occupants were the Canarsee Indians who named the area "Canapaukah" which translates to "Bear Watering Hole." The creek each name refers to is the Newtown creek which runs behind the bar and serves as the border between Long Island City and Greenpoint Brooklyn. The Area also served as a British Army Garrison from 1776 to 1783. And was an important road during the Revolutionary War. Gelnaw Rubin now Runs the cocktail program (I believe) at Lion Lion in East Harlem and Boccato went on to open numerous other bars and an Ice business, selling high quality ice to bars called Hundredweight. This drink is one of my favorite highballs, both bitter, sweet and satisfying and I hope you all will love it too! It's the mother of all dystopias! Long before YA dystopia rose to power, before the age of Young Attractive Heroes who Rebel Against The State and Also Find Love, there was just Winston Smith - a middle-aged man in poor health who Rebelled Against The State and Also Found Love. It just ended much less prettily for him. 1984 codified most of the modern dystopia tropes - absolute control of the media, black-bagging people who spoke out, and a lot of popular terms like "doublethink", "big brother", and "thought police". Unfortunately, a lot of those terms got stripped of context and thrown around for the sake of Extra Edge, and as a result they get used a little haphazardly. And there's nothing Red hates more than misused terminology, so here's the video outlining the ORIGINAL meaning of 1984!
