The line was a huge hit garnering her such accolades as "Top Ten Designers to Watch" by the Miami Herald. After 5 years in Miami's fashion circuit, Kelly ventured west in search of new inspiration. She found it immediately upon arriving in Los Angeles. Noticing everything she saw in the clothing market was shabby-chic and grunge, Kelly saw the perfect opportunity to bring back elegance, sophistication, and femininity by revisiting one of her favorite pieces...the corset! With lush fabrics and a more comfortable structure, Kelly breathed fresh air into an age-old garment. They quickly made a stir on red carpets across the country, Kelly Nishimoto corsets have already graced the bodies of Marley Shelton, Rumor Moore, Gwen Stefani, Anastasia, Natasha Hendstridge, Jenna Jameson, and yes...even Dave Navarro. How to design a successful logo? How to build a famous brand for your business? Some of the most well-known logos in the world were purposefully designed to indicate something much more than simple beauty. In fact, it seems that in some cases, every line, curve, and color has meaning behind it. Adidas, Apple, BMW, Coca-Cola, Toyota… We see these famous brands everywhere but never consider what their logos exactly mean. Curious to know the secret? Watch the 16 famous logos with a hidden meaning you've never noticed. #logomeaning #logosecret # Hyundai 0:33 The letter ’Н’ symbolizes two people – a client and a representative of the company – shaking hands. Adidas 0:52 The current logo is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolizes a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges that all sportsmen have to overcome day after day. Apple 1:21 Rob Janoff, the designer who came up with the world-famous Apple company logo, explained his idea in one of his interviews. He bought a bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Vaio 1:58 The first two letters of the Vaio logo symbolize an analogue wave. The last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. Amazon 2:14 The orange arrow is similar to a smile because the company wants its customers to be satisfied. The arrow is also stretched between the letters ’A’ and ’Z’, in a hint that the company sells absolutely every product you can imagine. Baskin Robbins 2:40 The pink-colored parts of the "BR" section make up the number 31, which is how many ice cream flavors Baskin Robbins used to famously sell. Toyota 2:56 The logo represents a stylized image of a needle eye with a thread passing through it. This is a hint at the company’s past – they used to produce weaving machines. Continental 3:28 Continental, a famous car tire producer, has a logo in which the first two letters depict a car wheel. Formula 1 3:41 If you look carefully at the white space between the letter ’F’ and the red stripes, you can see the number 1. Pinterest 3:59 On Pinterest, people collect images they like from across the Internet and ’pin’ them to their online boards. That’s why the image of a pin is hidden in the letter P. Beats 4:17 Beats, an audio equipment producer based in the USA, uses a logo in which the letter ’B’ looks like headphones on a person’s head. Toblerone 4:32 The famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, has a silhouette of a bear in its logo. That's because Bern is sometimes called a city of bears. BMW 4:55 The logo is simply a part of the Bavarian flag, the area of Germany where the company originated. LG 5:18 The logo is a stylized image of a person’s face. According to the company, this represents its aspiration to have human relations with their customers. Evernote 5:34 The corner of the elephant’s ear is folded over in a similar way how people fold the corner of a page to make notes. Coca-Cola 5:57 In the space between the letters ’O’ and ’L’, you can see the Danish flag. It’s purely a coincidence. Now, if you're one of those people just give me a few minutes, okay? Let's fix that perception. Some people think that building a brand is a task strictly left for graphic designers. No, nuh-uh, wrong. The truth is branding is from marketers and business owners. Branding takes place at every touchpoint, every interaction with the consumer, and every time they think of your brand. Most importantly, branding is ultimately controlled by the customers. Too many companies think that they get to choose their brand while you only really get to influence how your customer sees you, not the other way around. So to help, we've put together a quick look at some of the key elements that go into building a strong brand identity. First up, being responsive and consistent. Don't just build things because they make you happy. You take an action, you see how the customer responds, take on more of the feedback, and then you implement that into your brand strategy going forward. By monitoring your audience responses as you go, you can see what does or doesn't work while consistently engaging with them. And of course, there's no need to alter every fiber of your company's being with every piece of feedback but keep an eye out and take things in. Next up, authenticity. Now, it should really mean something to say that a brand is authentic. But what does that mean? Truly authentic brands understand themselves at the deepest level. And they're able to foster meaningful and long lasting relationships with customers. And not only are customers more likely to trust an authentic brand, they're more likely to recommend it, which is key. Third, creating a brand strategy. A brand is never truly done. Over time they change, they evolve, they develop. I mean, you can see that in logos alone. Branding is a daily process of bringing multiple aspects of your business and voice together and then adjusting them to what the customer expects from you. Next up, brand story. Now this relates back to credibility. How did you as a company come to be? And what makes you so passionate about solving this particular problem? The term storytelling is used a lot but this isn't just about telling a good story. It's about telling people what your company stands for and getting them to stand behind the ideals of your business. Then we have brand essence. Now this is when we get to your company's core values. What principles will shape your company's culture? Now, many companies out there will claim to differentiate themselves with values like, we're transparent. We have have a great company culture, there's no company out there like us. Okay, okay, well done, fine. These unique core values that so many companies profess kind of become the standard for tech start-ups. Which is good, it just means that we can all stop stating the obvious and look for really unique, new, fantastic ways to differentiate ourselves. It's time to show instead of tell. Think of what truly unique values you have and build them into your company culture from day one. And finally, brand differentiation. Copying the same strategy as another company is the tactic reserved by those most dastardly of villains who just aren't creative enough to come up with their own ideas. Don't be a copycat. Originality is way more fun. This all comes back to defining your unique selling point, your USP. What does your brand have that others don't? And how can you position your company in a way that it can't be replicated?
