Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller D-Blue 116660 Luxury Watch – James Cameron Edition

08:48
http://www.crmjewelers.com/vip/ – Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller D-Blue 116660 Luxury Watch – James Cameron Edition The Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller D-Blue, also known as the Rolex Deep Blue Sea, is a special edition of the Rolex Sea-Dweller luxury watch. With a reference of 116660, the Deepsea D-Blue is also called the Rolex James Cameron Edition, named after the director of the Deep-sea thriller, “The Abyss,” back in 1989 (he also known for directing a myriad of blockbusters like The Terminator [1984], Aliens [1986], Titanic [1997] and Avatar [2009]). The Deepsea D-Blue high end watch was introduced by Rolex in 2014 to commemorate Jame Cameron's first solo human dive to the deepest point in the oceans of planet Earth, the Challenger Deep of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean (10,994 meters deep or 36,070 feet). During Cameron's Deepsea Challenge, a special “supercharged” 51-mm version of the Sea-Dweller Rolex designed was strapped to the manipulator arm of the submersible. Designed to withstand 12,000 meters of depth, the special Rolex Deepsea was able to withstand a crushing water pressure of eight tons per square inch, 1000 times greater than the atmospheric pressure at sea level! Even though the the Deepsea D-Blue edition is a new watch, it shares most of the same specifications as the regular and less expensive Rolex Seadweller 16600 mens watch with the black dial, including the extreme waterproof rating of 3,900 meters (12,800 feet) thanks to Rolex patented safety valve. The main differences between the regular Deepsea and the D-Blue can be found on the dial itself. If you look at the dial of the Rolex Deepsea D-Blue, you will notice that it fades from blue to black to symbolize the transition of color experienced during a deep sea dive. At lower depths, the ocean is void of any color whatsoever. The regular Sea-Dweller simply comes with a black dial. The word “DEEPSEA” on the dial of the new Sea-Dweller also has the same color as the submersible vehicle used by James Cameron to complete his incredible dive. The Price of the Deepseas There's quite a jump in price when you go from the regular Sea-Dweller to the Deepsea D-Blue dial edition. While a standard Deepsea Sea Dweller sells for an average of around $7,500 to $8,000 pre-owned, a preowned James Cameron Rolex is going to cost you around $11,500. That's quite a jump in price for a gradient dial and a neon name! While the colors of the D-Blue do stand out way more than the standard Deepsea, some people might not want to spend the extra money on the special edition. Wearing a Deepsea Rolex Both versions of the Deepsea are 44 millimeters in diameter. Even though this is the same case size as that of the Yacht-Master II, the case design of the Sea-Dweller models much taller, so unless you have a relatively larger wrist, you might not like the way the Deepsea sits on your arm. As far as the Watch Game goes, if you don't mind the size, the James Cameron edition of the Sea-Dweller is definitely going to turn some heads in your direction! The Rolex Deepsea D-Blue Edition as an Investment I'm not yet convinced that the D-Blue version of the Sea-Dweller will continue to enjoy a premium in price over it's black-dial cousin. Only time will tell. Will the price gap on both models shrink over time, bringing the price of the new Sea-Dweller lower? It's possible. Nevertheless, it is also possible that the D-Blue continues to appreciate proportionately over time, similarly to the Rolex Batman and the regular GMT II. It'll be interesting to see what really happens. So what do you think of the Rolex Deepsea Blue? Let me know by commenting below If you liked this video, remember to like and share it. Measuring the Greatest Ocean Depth The Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench is the deepest known point in Earth's oceans. In 2010 the United States Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping measured the depth of the Challenger Deep at 10,994 meters (36,070 feet) below sea level with an estimated vertical accuracy of ± 40 meters. If Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth, were placed at this location it would be covered by over one mile of water. The first depth measurements in the Mariana Trench were made by the British survey ship HMS Challenger, which was used by the Royal Navy in 1875 to conduct research in the trench. The greatest depth that they recorded at that time was 8,184 meters (26,850 feet). In 1951, another Royal Navy vessel, also named the "HMS Challenger," returned to the area for additional measurements. They discovered an even deeper location with a depth of 10,900 meters (35,760 feet) determined by echo sounding. The Challenger Deep was named after the Royal Navy vessel that made these measurements. In 2009, sonar mapping done by researchers aboard the RV Kilo Moana, operated by the University of Hawaii, determined the depth to be 10,971 meters (35,994 feet) with a potential error of ± 22 meters. The most recent measurement, done in 2010, is the 10,994 meter ( ± 40 meter accuracy) depth reported at the top of this article, measured by the United States Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping.

James Cameron hits bottom to explore sea

01:55
James Cameron, noted film director, has reached rock bottom, literally, with his latest expedition deep inside the sea. He has become the first person to travel solo to the deepest known spot on earth, 11km deep Marina Trench. The maker of epic movies like -- "Titanic" and "Avatar" - spent seven years planning for his trip, largely in secret, to explore a frontier that remains more alien to humans than the moon. Al Jazeera's Gerald Tan takes a look at his latest accomplishment.

James Cameron's Deepsea Challenge

01:57
As a boy, filmmaker James Cameron dreamed of a journey to the deepest part of the ocean. This film is the dramatic fulfillment of that dream, it chronicles Cameron’s solo dive to the depths of the Mariana Trench—nearly seven miles beneath the ocean’s surface—piloting a submersible he designed himself. The risks were astounding and the footage is breathtaking. James Cameron's Deepsea Challenge is a celebration of science, courage, and extraordinary human aspiration.

REVIEW: Rolex DeepSea D-Blue James Cameron Edition Ref: 116660

10:11
This is a review of the James Cameron Deep Sea by Rolex. It's a large watch, but both it's blue gradient dial and rarity compared to the standard black model are what appealed to me in this case. It's kind of a Bugatti Veyron of watches; an older engine (since the SD43) in a completely over-engineered case to show what can be done, but doesn't have to be. Definitely one of Rolex' more playful watches. Rolex Sea Dweller "James Cameron" 116660B Watch Review

03:46
This is a Rolex Sea Dweller "James Cameron" 116660B Watch video review. Today we’re here to talk about a watch that’s unique in Rolex’s line-up – the Deepsea D-Blue Reference 116660, also known as the James Cameron, which Rolex released in August of 2014. This watch is unique because in 2012 Rolex worked with Cameron in support of his history-making voyage to the deepest part of the Pacific ocean in a custom, one-off submersible. I’ll talk about the links between the watch and the submersible in a minute Dial First, I want to talk about the D-Blue dial. It’s the first thing you notice about this watch besides the overall size. The dial gradually goes from a rich, almost royal blue at the top to a deep inky navy blue, nearly black, at the bottom. That’s the same way we perceive the ocean – beautiful blue at the top, inky black down deep. The other thing you notice when you look at the watch’s dial is the green printing for ‘DEEPSEA.’ It’s not the typical Rolex green. Instead, it actually matches Cameron’s custom deep-sea submersible that he used to travel down into the Mariana trench. That was intentional, and it’s what makes this Rolex unique besides the gradient colored dial. Rolex has rarely if ever, produced a commercially available watch with such a feature. And to wrap up the dial, of course, the hands are the instantly recognizable Mercedes hands, which are featured on all Rolex sports watches. Lume The lume, as with most other modern Rolexes, is their proprietary Chromalight, which glows bright blue. It fills the hour markers, the luminous portions of the hands, and the marker, or pip, at the zero position on the bezel. Bezel The bezel, of course, is Rolex’s newest bezel material, Cerachrom. Cerachrom is Rolex’s proprietary ceramic and is now used on all their sports watches. It’s highly scratch resistant and won’t fade like the old painted aluminum bezels did. Case I mentioned the case a minute ago. It’s large – 44 millimeters across – and thick – nearly 18 millimeters. At those dimensions, the Deepsea is definitely a presence on your wrist. But there’s a lot more going on here. To achieve the depth rating of 3900 meters, Rolex used a new innovation – the Ringlock System – to keep the watch watertight at those depths. The Ringlock System is a system of components that fit together in such a way that the water pressure itself helps seal the case. Bracelet Now since you might be concerned that such a large watch is too much for your wrist, the classic Oyster bracelet is equipped with Rolex’s patented Glidelock Extension System clasp. This clasp allows you to extend the bracelet up to 20 millimeters in two-millimeter increments, and you don’t need tools do it. You can adjust the bracelet to a perfect fit so the watch isn’t flopping around. Movement / Technical Info The Deepsea D-Blue is driven by Rolex’s robust 3135 chronometer movement. This caliber has proven itself to be an almost bulletproof movement for several years. It’s equipped with a Parachrom hairspring which provides durability and a large measure of resistance to temperature changes and magnetism. Conclusions So to wrap it up, the Deepsea D-Blue James Cameron is a big bold watch, named for Cameron’s big bold adventure. The graduated blue of the dial is an eye-catcher. The proportions of the case and bracelet keep the watch from being overwhelming. Wear one on YOUR next adventure! And remember! Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller D-Blue 116660 James Cameron Luxury Watch Review

07:23
Watchuwant is now WatchBox! See our collection of Rolex Watches here: https://goo.gl/Xj6YRv Pop quiz: how many of the collectible Rolex watches named after celebrities were designed as tribute models for their owners? The answer: none. Uniquely among prominent Rolex owners, James Cameron became the first individual to receive a Rolex designed in his honor: the Deepsea Sea-Dweller D-Blue. And all he had to do was go for a swim. Ok, so a submersible trip to the 36,000+ foot depths of the Challenger Deep is more than a light splash, but still, this watch is a colossal milestone in Rolex history. Colorful, flamboyant, and destined for limited production, the unique story behind the Deepsea Sea-Dweller D-Blue is guaranteed to keep this rare model squarely in the sights of collectors. The blue-to-black gradient dial is beautifully rendered, and its effect is best appreciated in the hand and in person. Rolex spared no expense to treat the depth and richness of the dial tones with the same delicate attention to detail lavished on the white gold hands and indexes. At six o'clock a playful splash of signal green explodes out of the black lacquer base and pays tribute to Cameron's submarine of the same color. Beyond the James Cameron content, this Deepsea includes all of the technology, features, and capability that make the standard Deepsea Sea-Dweller Rolex's toughest sports watch. With a diving depth of 12,800 feet, a helium release valve for use in diving bells, a 5mm thick sapphire crystal, and the bullet-proof Rolex caliber 3135 beating inside the Ringlock case, this Deepsea Sea-Dweller is loaded for bear, er... shark! Available immediately from thewatchbox.com and virtually obtainable anywhere else, this Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller D-Blue is one of the most desirable, unique, and sought Rolex releases of the last decade. Deep Sea Creatures [National Geographic Documentary 2017 HD]

53:56
Deep Sea Creatures [National Geographic Documentary 2017 HD] The Deep sea creature refers to organisms that live below the photic zone of the ocean. These creatures must survive in extremely harsh conditions, such as hundreds of bars of pressure, small amounts of oxygen, very little food, no sunlight, and constant, extreme cold. Most creatures have to depend on food floating down from above. These creatures live in very demanding environments, such as the abyssal or hadal zones, which, being thousands of meters below the surface, are almost completely devoid of light. The water is between 3 and 10 degrees Celsius and has low oxygen levels. Due to the depth, the pressure is between 20 and 1,000 bars. Creatures that live hundreds or even thousands of meters deep in the ocean have adapted to the high pressure, lack of light, and other factors. The depths of the ocean are festooned with the most nightmarish creatures imaginable. You might think you’re safe, because these critters live thousands of feet down in a cold dark abyss, but the vampire squid, which looks like a nightmare umbrella, and the frilled shark—a literal living fossil—will live on in the recesses of your mind long after you’ve clicked away. Enjoy these deep sea horrors and try to have a relaxing day afterward. ► NOTE : I'm a big fan of National Geographic and I just collect the best parts of National Geographic. I do not make money from National Geographic's Video. Thanks You very much
