euronews science - Life in the Dead Sea

02:01
http://www.euronews.net/ The deepest point on the surface of Earth is the Dead Sea in Israel. Now a joint Israeli-German team of scientists has found several freshwater spring systems on the floor of the Dead Sea. Their presence has been suspected for decades as concentric ripples on the surface of the water are visible near the shore, but it is only now been confirmed by divers. 30 metres under the surface, equipped with underwater cameras, the divers collected water samples from cracks in the sea floor and discovered cunknown micro-organisms.

10 Biggest Sea Creatures Ever Caught

05:42
You won't believe that fishermen actually caught these gigantic sea monsters! Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg SyFy recently aired the third film in their so-bad-its-good “Sharknado” series, prompting some to wonder if airborne, tornado-based sharks could actually be real. Okay, so no one is really wondering that. Still, though, the ocean continues to represent a great unknown to us, providing home to countless species, many of which remain a mystery to humanity. The more we learn about what lurks deep below the surface, the more we realize still remains uncovered. With two-thirds of the Earth’s surface covered in water, it stands to reason that a great deal of that space remains unexplored. Of course, just because humankind hasn’t covered every iota of ground along the ocean floor, it doesn’t mean that those areas are uninhabited. All we know for sure is that the truly deepest depths of the world’s oceans continue to offer surprises, even as scientific technology becomes increasingly advanced. New species unlike any others known before are routinely discovered, with entirely new and alien biomes in extreme environments that no life had even been thought possible have challenged our very notions of what life is and how it has evolved. Amidst the cold darkness of a low-lying ocean area with depths that no sunlight can penetrate lies an alien world of incredibly rare and mysterious species. While many are simple, harmless omnivores, they share the ocean floor with some pretty unsettling forces. These ocean-based creatures – those that we know about, anyway – change everything we think we know about fish. Each one has at least one predominant feature that stands out as being unlike anything seen before. Think you know sharks? Well, how about one with a saw-like nose or a frilly, eel-like body. Think you’ve seen some big fish? How about a 17-metre long swimmer or a 900-pound squid or even a 5,000-pound behemoth sunfish? Lurking within the ocean are a number of deadly, threatening, vicious creatures that are naturally designed and programmed to hunt and stalk their prey. Thankfully, most of these monsters live at pressures that humans could never survive at – not that they would survive long down there, anyway. In recent years, Hollywood has sparked a fascination with zombies, aliens and other forces that exist beyond the realms of our planet and that are not steeped in reality. Despite that, some of the strangest and most terrifying creatures in the universe lie beneath the surface of bodies of water with which we are, at least partially, familiar. As we sit on a beach staring out at the natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean, we remain blissfully oblivious to all that lurks within. This list seeks to open the door to an entire world of deep sea activity, featuring a cast of creepy and spooky characters that few even know exist. These 10 fish, some of whom may seem to be borne out of your darkest nightmares, are all very real and may give you second thoughts the next time you foray into the ocean. And these are just the ones we know about… Check out these other awesome videos! 10 Shockingly Large Creatures That Actually Exist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9odlL5Ti3dc 10 Things That Will Happen When Humans Go Extinct https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ml_awEqbEE Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheRichest.org Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheRichest_Com Instagram: http://instagram.com/therichest For more videos and articles visit: http://www.therichest.com/

First Scientific Diving Expedition at the Dead Sea

02:47
BGU researchers have today that they have discovered deep springs on the floor of the Dead Sea, which provide fresh water to the rapidly dwindling lake. Meanwhile, a parallel study by German researchers has found new forms of life growing around the fissures in the sea floor. The Dead Sea is shrinking as the water level drops at an alarming rate -- about a meter a year. Israeli and German scientists have been researching groundwater springs which discharge from the sea floor to understand the impact of this process on this unique ecosystem. While the existence of springs has been known for decades as people observed ripples on the surface, the scientists have discovered deep springs not visible from shore.

Dead Sea (Ezekiel) Prophecy Fulfilled ! Israel News! Fish swimming along Dead Sea's shores!

09:36
“And it shall come to pass in that day that living waters shall go out from Yerushalayim: half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea; in summer and in winter shall it be.” Zechariah 14:8 (The Israel Bible™) Then said he unto me: ‘These waters issue forth toward the eastern region and shall go down into the Arabah; and when they shall enter into the sea into the sea of the putrid waters the waters shall be healed. And it shall come to pass that every living creature wherewith it swarmeth whithersoever the rivers shall come shall live; and there shall be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters are come thither that all things be healed and may live whithersoever the river cometh. Ezekiel 47:8-9 (The Israel Bible) Almost ten times saltier than the ocean, nothing can live in the Dead Sea’s hyper-saline environment – Or so scientists thought until recently. Scientific research has proved the existence of life at the bottom of the sea, but due to a unique set of circumstances, signs of life have begun appearing on its very shores, precisely as it is written in the Book of Prophets in the Bible. A young woman on a nature hike was shocked recently when she discovered freshwater ponds with fish on the shores of the Dead Sea. Samantha Siegel, a Jewish woman living in Jerusalem, often takes trips to the desert and the ancient body of water. On a recent visit, she encountered an incongruous sight with powerful implications: a prophecy appearing before her eyes that seemed to contradict the laws of nature.... Floating in the Dead Sea ...You Can't Sink!

03:04
The Dead Sea (Hebrew: יָם הַמֶּלַח, Yam ha-Melah, "Sea of Salt", also Hebrew: יָם הַמָּוֶת, Yam ha-Mavet, "The Sea of Death", and Arabic: البحر الميت‎‎ About this sound Al-Bahr al-Mayyit (help·info)), also called the Salt Sea, is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and Palestine to the west. Its surface and shores are 429 metres (1,407 ft) below sea level, Earth's lowest elevation on land. The Dead Sea is 304 m (997 ft) deep, the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. With 34.2% salinity (in 2011), it is 9.6 times as salty as the ocean, and one of the world's saltiest bodies of water. This salinity makes for a harsh environment in which plants and animals cannot flourish, hence its name. The Dead Sea is 50 kilometers (31 mi) long and 15 kilometers (9 mi) wide at its widest point. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley and its main tributary is the Jordan River. The Dead Sea water has a density of 1.24 kg/liter, which makes swimming similar to floating. Biblical period- Dwelling in caves near the Dead Sea is recorded in the Hebrew Bible as having taken place before the Israelites came to Canaan, and extensively at the time of King David. Just northwest of the Dead Sea is Jericho. Somewhere, perhaps on the southeastern shore, would be the cities mentioned in the Book of Genesis which were said to have been destroyed in the time of Abraham: Sodom and Gomorra (Genesis 18) and the three other "Cities of the Plain", Admah, Zeboim and Zoar (Deuteronomy 29:23). Zoar escaped destruction when Abraham's nephew Lot escaped to Zoar from Sodom (Genesis 19:21-22). Before the destruction, the Dead Sea was a valley full of natural tar pits, which was called the vale of Siddim. King David was said to have hidden from Saul at Ein Gedi nearby. In Ezekiel 47:8-9 there is a specific prophecy that the sea will ".. be healed and made fresh", becoming a normal lake capable of supporting marine life. A similar prophecy is stated in Zechariah 14:8, which says that "Living waters will go out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea (likely the Dead Sea) and half to the western sea (the Mediterranean)..." Greek and Roman period- Aristotle wrote about the remarkable waters. The Nabateans and others discovered the value of the globs of natural asphalt that constantly floated to the surface where they could be harvested with nets. The Egyptians were steady customers, as they used asphalt in the embalming process that created mummies. The Ancient Romans knew the Dead Sea as "Palus Asphaltites" (Asphalt Lake). King Herod the Great built or rebuilt several fortresses and palaces on the western bank of the Dead Sea. The most famous was Masada, where in 70 CE a small group of Jewish zealots fled after the fall of the destruction of the Second Temple. The zealots survived until 73 CE, when a siege by the X Legion ended in the deaths by suicide of its 960 inhabitants. Another historically important fortress was Machaerus (מכוור), on the eastern bank, where, according to Josephus, John the Baptist was imprisoned by Herod Antipas and died. Also in Roman times, some Essenes settled on the Dead Sea's western shore; Pliny the Elder identifies their location with the words, "on the west side of the Dead Sea, away from the coast ... [above] the town of Engeda" (Natural History, Bk 5.73); and it is therefore a hugely popular but contested hypothesis today, that same Essenes are identical with the settlers at Qumran and that "the Dead Sea Scrolls" discovered during the 20th century in the nearby caves had been their own library. Josephus identified the Dead Sea in geographic proximity to the ancient Biblical city of Sodom. However, he referred to the lake by its Greek name, Asphaltites. Various sects of Jews settled in caves overlooking the Dead Sea. The best known of these are the Essenes of Qumran, who left an extensive library known as the Dead Sea Scrolls. The town of Ein Gedi, mentioned many times in the Mishna, produced persimmon for the temple's fragrance and for export, using a secret recipe. "Sodomite salt" was an essential mineral for the temple's holy incense, but was said to be dangerous for home use and could cause blindness. The Roman camps surrounding Masada were built by Jewish slaves receiving water from the towns around the lake. These towns had drinking water from the Ein Feshcha springs and other sweetwater springs in the vicinity. Byzantine period- Intimately connected with the Judean wilderness to its northwest and west, the Dead Sea was a place of escape and refuge. The remoteness of the region attracted Greek Orthodox monks since the Byzantine era. Their monasteries, such as Saint George in Wadi Kelt and Mar Saba in the Judean Desert, are places of pilgrimage.

10 MOST DANGEROUS OCEAN CREATURES IN THE WORLD

10:17
10 Most Dangerous Water Animals In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many different types of creatures that live in streams, lakes, seas and oceans. And while many of these creatures are harmless, there are many that are incredibly dangerous if you happen to have an encounter with them. These dangerous animals lurk beneath the surface of the water in a world vastly different than ours, and must be deadly to survive. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most dangerous water creatures. 10. Australian Box Jellyfish – This creature is not one to be messed around with if you happen to swim into a swarm of them. And while they may seem harmless, the Australian box jellyfish is considered to be the most venomous marine animal in the world. They have tentacles that are covered with tiny darts called nematocysts, and they are loaded with poison. 9. Flower Urchin – Beautiful but deadly, these sea urchins are extremely venomous. They look like a bouquet of small flowers; to which they get their name from. They feed on invertebrates, sponges, and dead fish, and have well developed jaws for grinding up their prey. 8. The Saltwater Crocodile – Evolving around 200 million years in the Mesozoic epoch, crocodiles have far outlived the dinosaurs. The Salt water crocodile is the world’s largest reptile, and they have been known to grow up to 27 feet long and weigh 2,465 lbs. 7. Textile Cone Snail – Mother nature teaches us that anything in nature that is beautiful, is most likely deadly, and a warning to predators and humans to not touch or disturb them. This holds true for the Textile Cone Snail. 6. The Sea Snake – These highly venomous marine snakes are closely related and belong to the same family as the cobra. There are two independently evolved groups: the true sea snakes which are related to Australian terrestrial elapids, and the sea kraits which are related to Asian cobras. 5. The Lionfish – Lionfish are skilled hunters, using specialized bilateral swim bladder muscles to provide exquisite control of location in the water column, allowing the fish to alter its center of gravity to better attack prey. The lionfish then spreads its large pectoral fins and swallows its prey in a single motion. 4. The Stingray – Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks, and are one of the oceans deadliest creatures. Most stingrays have one or more barbed stingers on their tails, which are used exclusively for self-defense. 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus – This octopus has some of the most striking colors of any ocean creature. They get their name from the brightly blue colored rings on its body. 2. Needlefish – These strange looking creatures are very slender, and have a single dorsal fin, placed far back on the body. Needlefish are capable of making short jumps out of the water at up to 37 mph. Since Needlefish swim near the surface, they often leap over the decks of shallow boats rather than going around. 1. The Moray Eel - Most attacks stem from disruption of a moray's burrow to which they react strongly, but an increasing number of accidents also occur during hand feeding of morays by divers, an activity often used by dive companies to attract tourists.

The Secrets Of The Dead Sea

02:22
The Dead Sea is the lowest spot on the face of the earth (-422 meters below sea level, to be exact). It is called the Dead Sea because its salinity prevents the existence of any life forms in the lake. That same salt, on the other hand, provides tremendous relief to the many ailing visitors. People can get benefit from its healing properties. You can lay on the surface of the water without even trying to float. The high salt content makes you buoyant. All these and more make the Dead Sea so fascinating, so different and so interesting.

Buoyancy - Can you drown in the dead sea? | #aumsum #kids #education #science #learn

02:19
Topic: Buoyancy Can you drown in the dead sea? Your answer must be yes, right? You must be thinking that anybody who cannot swim will obviously drown, whether it is a swimming pool or the dead sea. However, that is not 100% true. Confused? Let me explain to you. When an object is partly or wholly immersed in a fluid, an upward force is exerted by the fluid on that object. This tendency of the fluid to exert an upward force on the object is called buoyancy or upthrust. This upward force is called buoyant force. So, do you finally get it? Let me give you one more example. Place a piece of wood in water and push it downwards. What do you observe? It seems like something is pushing the piece of wood upwards, right? Water exerts an upward force on the wood. That is why the wood is getting pushed upwards. This force is called buoyant force and the tendency of water to exert that buoyant force is called buoyancy. Dead sea has a huge amount of salt dissolved in it as compared to any other sea or ocean. The presence of this salt increases density of water present in the dead sea. Higher density leads to greater buoyant force. As the dead sea has very high density, it exerts enough amount of buoyant force to make us float on it. So, if we can float on the dead sea, we are definitely not going to drown in it.

Go to https://FoodAbundance.com to join the Food Abundance movement. Less than 2 miles away from the Dead Sea, the desert comes to life, even though the local "experts" said it could not be done. Fruit trees bearing fruit within 4months... impossible. Soil becoming less and less salty... impossible. Permaculture (permanent agriculture) is a whole-systems approach to the design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. The Permaculture site design process looks like landscape architecture, but has the goal of developing systems for more productive yet sustainable and regenerative agriculture, for permanent cultivation. Using Permaculture Design, you can make almost any wasteland become productive. This is the ultimate of sustainability. If you would like to get trained in this science, you can find a Permaculture Design Course near you at http://permacultureglobal.com/users or can even take a course online at http://permaculturevisions.com Using this "technology", even the driest desert can produce be designed to produce in abundance. It is time to end hunger worldwide, through creating local food abundance.... Anyone can do it, once you learn how. To join the Food Abundance movement, go to https://FoodAbundance.com

What Lives At The BOTTOM Of The Mariana Trench?

11:15
Do you ever wonder what lives at the bottom of the mariana trench? This top 10 list of creepy deep sea monsters has some giant and bizarre creatures that are scary and mysterious! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "MYSTERIOUS Creatures Living At The BOTTOM Of The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/Efhjc-Gu508 Watch our "SECRETS Casinos DON'T Want You To Find Out!" video here: https://youtu.be/hAoABuvzOZM Watch our "RAREST And Most EXPENSIVE Cars In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/MtCnWSqqilg 10. Frilled Shark The frilled shark has been around a long, LONG time. They’re ‘living fossils’, thought to have been swimming around for anywhere between 95 and 300 million years! Also while they were first discovered in approx 1880 they weren’t actually described until 2004 (the same ROV mission as the barreleye fish). This is one predator that really knows how to keep its head down. It lives at a depth of over 5,000 ft (1524 m). 9. Hatchet Fish Okay so if you came face to face with this dude you’d get one hell of a shock right? Meet the deep sea hatchet fish, so called because of its metallic, hatchet-shaped appearance. It can be found 5,000 ft (1,524 m) down. The metal like quality comes from its scales which is just as well because if it weren’t so shiny you’d have trouble seeing it! 8. Seadevil Anglerfish You’ve probably seen this one in the movies. A seadevil anglerfish appeared in Finding Nemo and the image has been used in some high profile shows like The Simpsons. They were first described in 1864 and can live at a depth of over 6,000 feet (1900 m). Like many deep sea species its movements are mysterious to experts and the only one filmed alive was in 2014. 7. Telescope Octopus Some deep sea animals like to take it easy, I mean there’s a lot of pressure down there!! Maybe none more so than the telescope octopus. Living anywhere from 500 - 6,500 ft (150 - 2000 m) below the surface it’s really laid back. In fact that’s literally what it does… lie back and use its eyes to look up for any food swimming by. 6. Benthocodon Usually when you think of a jellyfish you think of a transparent wobbly thing that stings your foot. Well not this one. The benthocodon isn’t transparent. It has a round, red top which is 2 - 3 cm in diameter and it won’t sting you unless you run into it 2,500 ft (762 m) below the surface. You’d have to be pretty crazy to be at that depth and even crazier without any flippers! 5. Barreleye Fish This fish with a transparent head shocked viewers when it appeared on Blue Planet! Also known as a “spookfish” it has a jelly-like forehead that allows it to look up through its skull, giving it greater visibility! Pretty freaky huh? It is a very efficient hunter that can live at a depth of at least 2,600 feet (800 m) and can be anywhere from 15 to 40 cm long. 4. Goblin Shark This shark is one ugly shark, hence why we call it the goblin shark! Of course I wouldn’t say that to its face poor thing! But its sword-like snout and prehistoric appearance makes it truly unique. 3. Zombie Worm Zombie worms, also known as bone-eating worms, were discovered by accident in 2002 when they appeared to be drilling into the skeletons of dead animals like whales and fish. This confused experts because they looked too squishy to be able to drill like that, but that is how they got their name. The answer came later on in 2012. 2. Foraminifera Foraminifera or ‘fora’ are tiny organisms from the ‘protist’ family. They vary between 100 micrometers and around 20 cm. Because many of them are so small and I’m guessing chewy, they are a prime source of food in the Mariana Trench. That’s a shame because there’s a lot more to these little things than meets the eye. 1. Ping Pong Tree Sponge The strangest name on our list is also the nastiest! Sure, Ping Pong Tree Sponge sounds like something out of Spongebob Squarepants and it’s one beautiful-looking life form. But despite this charming exterior this isn’t a thing to be messed with! It lives nearly 9000 ft (2743 m) underwater and if you’re a small creature it spells bad news. Swimming in the Dead Sea in Jordan

06:29
I've always heard of the Dead Sea but you have to experience it for yourself. If you don't know how to float you will find yourself floating without any instructor. The Dead Sea is so salty I would be surprised if any life can be found in those waters. If you ever go to the Dead Sea try to walk into the water with a stick. I saw several pieces of wood near the shore. It was only when I got into the water I realize that the water won't let me stand and constantly forced me to float. It's an exhilarating experience. And the salt does wonders for the body.

What's inside a Lokai Bracelet?

07:50
Is there REALLY water and mud in the Lokai Bracelet?? We CUT OPEN 5 Lokai Bracelets to find out for ourselves! We were SHOCKED at the results! These were purchased directly from Lokai’s website and opened within a few weeks after arriving at our home. They were never worn or taken out of the box until this video. We did not alter them in any way and the results of our experiment were authentic. There was no "movie magic" that made the results appear what that were not. While the results are disappointing to us, It is important to note we are only commenting on the 5 we opened and not making any claims regarding whether or not Lokai actually puts water from Mount Everest or Mud from the Dead Sea in their bracelets. This video was in no way sponsored or influenced by Lokai or any other company or people. We purchased these with our own money and had no knowledge of what we may or may not find inside. Big thanks to all of the people who recommended this video, it was a great learning experience for Lincoln and I and we really enjoyed this experiment. Neil deGrasse Tyson: Life on Europa, Jupiter's Moons, Ice Fishing and Racket Sports

06:45
Where there is water, there is life—and Europa’s got water alright: scientists believe it has twice the volume of Earth’s oceans swirling beneath its kilometers-thick ice crust. A moon in Jupiter’s massive orbit, Europa has captivated astrophysicists, including Neil deGrasse Tyson, because it has completely blown open the borders in the search for life in our universe. Europa is well outside of the life-supporting “Goldilocks Zone”. Tyson explains how liquid water can exist in such a frozen part of our solar system, and how engineers might approach getting through all that ice to potentially come face to face/membrane with life, whether simple or complex. It won’t be too long before NASA’s ‘Europa Clipper’ mission makes its move to investigate the habitability of the icy moon: it will head for Europa in the 2020s. Tyson's new book is Astrophysics for People in a Hurry. Read more at BigThink.com: http://bigthink.com/videos/neil-degrasse-tyson-life-on-europa-jupiters-icy-moon Follow Big Think here: YouTube: http://goo.gl/CPTsV5 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BigThinkdotcom Twitter: https://twitter.com/bigthink Transcript: Nobody doesn't love Europa. Let me back up. When we think of places you might find life we typically think of the Goldilocks zone around a star where water would be liquid in its natural state, and if you get a little too close to the star heat would evaporate the water and you don't have it anymore, it's gone. Too far away, it would freeze and neither of those states of H2O are useful to life as we know it. We need liquid water. So you can establish this green zone, this habitable zone, this Goldilocks zone where if you find a planet orbiting there: hey, good chance it could have liquid water. Let's look there first for life as we know it. Now, it turns out that this source of heat, of course, is traceable to the sun, and if you go farther out everything would or should be frozen, all other things being equal. But Europa, a moon of Jupiter sitting well outside of the Goldilocks zone, is kept warm. Not from energy sources traceable to the sun, but from what we call the tidal forces of Jupiter itself. So Jupiter and surrounding moons are actually pumping energy into Europa. And how does it do that? As Europa orbits Jupiter its shape changes. It's not fundamentally different from tides rising and falling on Earth. The shape of the water system of the earth is responding to tidal forces of the moon and when you do that to a solid object, the solid object is stressing and because of this, a consequence of this is that you are pumping energy into the object. It is no different from when you say—anyone who's familiar with racquet sports, indoor racquet sports, it could be racquetball or squash—you say, “Let's warm up the ball before we start playing.” You want to hit it around a few times. You are literally warming up the ball. It's not just simply, “Let's get loose,” it’s, you are literally warming up the ball. How? You are distorting it every time you smack it and then the resilience of the ball pops it back into shape, and every time you do that, every smack, you're pumping energy into the ball. That's not fundamentally different from what's going on in orbit around Jupiter. So you have this frozen world Europa, completely frozen on its surface, but you look at the surface and there are cracks in the ice. There are ridges in the ice where there's a crack and it's shifted and then re-froze. So this ridge has a discontinuity in the crack and it continues in another place. So what this tells you is that Europa cannot be completely frozen because if it were nothing would be moving. You look at the surface of Europa, the frozen surface, there are like ice chunks that are like shifted and re-frozen and shifted again. It looks just like if you fly over the Arctic Ocean. Fly over the Arctic Ocean in the winter, these are ice sheets that are breaking and re-freezing all the time. It's the same signature as that. So all of us are convinced that beneath this icy surface is an ocean of liquid water and there's no reason to think it wouldn’t have been liquid for billions of years. On Earth, where we find liquid water we find life. Wherever we find liquid water we find life.Even places like the Dead Sea—why did anybody call it a Dead Sea? Because the microscope hadn't yet been invented. And sure maybe there's no macroscopic vertebrate fishes, but microbes have no problems thriving in practically any condition under which you would find liquid water.

Dead Sea, Israel (quadcopter)

02:51
The Dead Sea in Israel attracts many people from all over the world. It's the lowest point on the earth (427 meters below sea level) and a natural health spa. The water has the highest concentration of salt in the world, that's why it's called the Dead Sea, as there's no any form of life in the sea due to the salinity. On the other hand, it provides health effects and therapies, as the waters are rich with minerals. It's warm there all year round and the place has become a modern vacation destination and a great combination of calmness, relaxation and treatment. The western shore welcomes you with organized convenient beaches and you'll find dozens of hotels and guest houses there. Phantom 2, ZenmuseH3-3D and GoPro Hero Black. Enoch - The Watchers

45:20
Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKre86s7f9XRFtE33vnxf00CCim8wyFMl The Book of Enoch - Section I - Book of the Watchers - Chapters 1-36 translated by M. Knibb "…The Book of Enoch, an ancient composition known from two sets of versions, an Ethiopic one that scholars identify as "1 Enoch," and a Slavonic version that is identified as "2 Enoch," and which is also known as The Book of the Secrets of Enoch. Both versions, of which copied manuscripts have been found mostly in Greek and Latin translations, are based on early sources that enlarged on the short biblical mention that Enoch, the seventh Patriarch after Adam, did not die because, at age 365, "he walked with God" - taken heavenward to join the deity. Enlarging on this brief statement in the Bible (Genesis chapter 5), the books describe in detail Enoch's two celestial journeys - the first to learn the heavenly secrets, return, and impart the knowledge to his sons; and the second to stay put in the heavenly abode. The Ethiopic version is deemed by scholars to be older by several centuries than the Slavonic one, and portions of that older version are in turn known to have been based on Keepers of the Secrets 129 even older manuscripts, such as a lost Book of Noah. Fragments of Enoch books were discovered among the Dead Sea scrolls. The astronomical-calendrical tale of Enoch thus goes back into great antiquity - perhaps, as the Bible asserts, to pre-Diluvial times. Now that it is certain that the biblical tales of the Deluge and the Nefilim (the biblical Anunnaki), of the creation of the Adam and of Earth itself, and of ante-Diluvial patriarchs, are abbreviated renderings of original earlier Sumerian texts that recorded all that, it is almost certain that the biblical "Enoch" was the equivalent of the Sumerian first priest, EN.ME.DUR.AN.KI ("High Priest of the ME's of the Bond Heaven-Earth"), the man from the city Sippar taken heavenward to be taught the secrets of Heaven and Earth, of divination, and of the calendar." ~Zecharia Sitchin When Time Began INFO:___________________________________________________________ The Archive appreciates every single person who decides to become a subscriber. Sinkholes Discovered in the Dead Sea

Mysterious Giant Sinkholes were discovered in the Dead Sea. For more news and videos visit ☛ http://ntd.tv Follow us on Twitter ☛ http://twitter.com/NTDTelevision Add us on Facebook ☛ http://on.fb.me/s5KV2C The Dead Sea is famous for its healing remedies and unique minerals. But in recent years a new phenomena has appeared - gigantic sinkholes are appearing along the sea's west coast. Our Israeli team spoke with a researcher who fell into one of those holes. The Dead Sea is the lowest place on earth. It attracts tourists from all over the world, who enjoy its healing waters. Industries also utilize its minerals. But in recent years, deep holes began forming along its west coast. In Israeli terminology, they are named "Sinkholes," and they can swallow up roads, vehicles and even humans. We went out to examine this phenomenon, and met a geologist who fell into a sinkhole while he was examining it. [Eli Raz, Geologist, Ein-Gedi]: "I was informed that new sinkholes were spotted somewhere. I went to document it and discovered a small sinkhole... while documenting it, it grew larger and drew me in." So what does it feel like to be swallowed by the earth? [Eli Raz, Geologist, Ein-Gedi]: "I fell into a massive landslide, which kept me on one side, but the other side was burying me. The first thing I recall was striving to get out. It was pitch dark and I couldn't see anything. I felt as though there was a heavy rock on my head. It was a struggle which lasted for hours, trying to dig my way out; and at one point I managed to climb out of the fall, and from that moment onwards, the anxiety began." Raz sat in the depth of the hole for 14 long hours. He was unable to move, and unable to climb upwards. [Eli Raz, Geologist, Ein-Gedi]: "The biggest problem was that I was afraid to move much, because everything was very fragile, and each movement could have aroused a new landslide". Then, Raz found a solution for his anxieties -- he began writing. [Eli Raz, Geologist, Ein-Gedi]: "Since occasionally there were more landslides, I felt anxious. I found a postcard in my bag, and I also had all my equipment along with me in my backpack, including a pen, so I decided I was going to write a farewell letter." Writing on the postcard helped him to relax. In his bag there was also a roll of toilet paper, and he kept on writing during all these long hours in the pit. [Eli Raz, Geologist, Ein-Gedi]: "Since writing felt good, I decided to keep writing. I found a roll of toilet paper in my backpack, so I took it out and it lasted until the evening". In addition to writing, Raz made a conscious decision to keep thinking positively all along, and that soothed his anxieties. [Eli Raz, Geologist, Ein-Gedi]: "Because otherwise I would be mentally lost, and the first moments were extremely difficult -- moments of a very deep, existential anxiety." After we learned about his downfall in the sinkhole, we tried to understand how sinkholes are created. Raz claims that rivers, including the Jordan River, that used to flow into the Dead Sea -- are being shifted from their courses for various reasons. The heavy industry in the area also evaporates the sea. As a result, the sea level drops about 1 meter per year. This eventually leads to the creation of sinkholes. [Eli Raz, Geologist, Ein-Gedi]: "The drop in the level of water in the Dead Sea is a result of humans interfering with the water system. The water levels are dropping rapidly, something which probably never existed in natural conditions. Now the systems are imbalanced so there are reactions such as this one, with infrastructures collapsing." The appearance of sinkholes poses a very concrete danger -- A danger for lives, for property and for the economy. [Eli Raz, Geologist, Ein-Gedi]: "Sinkholes are dangerous for people. There are people who fell into sinkholes, including myself, but not only me. A car or a bus might also fall into a sinkhole." The Sinkholes have severely harmed the economy in the Dead Sea area. In such a place, it is impossible to cultivate any agricultural products, or have tourism. [Eli Raz, Geologist, Ein-Gedi]: "It harmed the agriculture, and most of the palm plantations in Ein-Gedi had to be abandoned... there was also a huge tourism project on the beach here, and a lot of money was invested here, but we had to abandon it." We tried to keep optimistic. Is the situation reversible? Is it possible to repair the Dead Sea and its surroundings? [Eli Raz, Geologist, Ein-Gedi]: "You picture a hypothetical situation in which all consumers who use water from the Dead Sea and the Jordan River -- will give up their water. This sounds very unlikely." Reporter:Israela Yablonka Photographer:Anat Markram NTD News, Israel

Denver Workshop: The Dead Sea Scrolls Mystery

02:29:20
Second and third tapes filmed in Denver during the Ptolemy Productions Workshop at the Global Conference. Begins with Harry Hubbard as he shows the audience conclusive data to show how history was literally created and purposefully bent during the late 1800's up to the mid 1900's. Part One of the program is titled, "Who stole the Lamp?" Part Two of the program is titled, "Pass the Hat," which discusses problems dealing with present day Numismatic Studies. Part Three features Paul Schaffranke as he picks up where Part Two has left off. Schaffranke details problems with archaic Punic inscriptions and provides the origin and basis for a newly morphed form of language called "Hebrew" as he combs through problems with the Dead Sea Scrolls Manuscripts. Never before revealed data obliterates and destroys modern Semitic Scholars, as the issue unfolds of why the DSS are shrouded in secrecy, and kept from the public at large. A must for any Historian, Numismatist or student of ancient Semitic Inscriptions. No religious overtones expressed or implied by the hosts. Mysterious Ancient SCROLL Discoveries

10:01
From the thought to be lost dead sea scrolls to a mysterious and beautiful copper scrool here ar the most Mysterious and Incredible Ancient Scroll Discoveries 7. The Shepherd and the Scroll While following a lost and wandering goat, three Bedouin shepherds uncovered one of the greatest literary finds of all time. Chasing their lost livestock, the three entered a cave around a mile from the dead sea and were shocked at what was inside. Buried in a clay jars, the trio found a series of seven scrolls and saw an opportunity to make a killing at market. The scrolls were sold to a man in Bethlehem who caught the attention of scholars, who sought out the cave. Inside they found over nine hundred and eighty one texts, all of which contained pieces of the Hebrew Bible and other religious texts. Dubbed the Qumran scrolls or dead sea scrolls, the texts are considered sacred within the Jewish religion. If it weren’t for a goat wandering from the herd in 1947, the texts very well may have never been found! 6. A 12th Cave In the last six decades, there has been little to no progress on locating any more dead sea scrolls. Originally thought to have been hidden within a series of eleven caves, archaeologists uncovered what is believed to have been a twelfth storage chamber near the original eleven of the cave system in Qumran. Dating back to the time of Jesus, the scrolls are priceless and incredibly valuable to the Jewish community. Unfortunately, inside the twelfth chamber there were signs of burglary, as many of the clay pots used to house the scrolls were broken open with the scrolls removed. Though no pieces of paper were left, the chamber itself is an incredible find that opens the possibility that even more chambers may exist within the area, encouraging archaeologists to keep searching and to keep an eye on markets for any potential scrolls surfacing. 5. Follow the Smoke A massive collection of primarily Buddhist texts, the findings within the Mogao Cave system in China is one of the largest of its kind in history. Found in Dunhuang, a city in the north of the western Chinese province of Gansu, the trove of texts contained over twenty thousand scrolls total. Ranging from manuscripts on Buddhist practices to taoist tales, the priceless cache of documents was found in an unbelievable, almost unrealistic way. One day, a man named Wang Yuanlu noticed his cigarette’s smoke was wafting towards the far wall of the shrine. Out of curiosity or boredom, he knocked on the wall and found it to be hollow and containing the massive collection of scrolls. Word got back to an archaeologist named Aurel Stein who happened to be in the area and, after much negotiation, Yuanlu was convinced to sell around half of the collection for 130 pounds. Other collectors scrambled to get their hands on texts from the collection until only a mere 20% remained, which was seized by the Beijing government to be saved. 4. A Copper Scroll 3. Who Lives at the Bottom of the Bermuda Triangle?

09:11
There is one special place that simultaneously terrifies and has unexplainable pull: 300 ships gone missing, 75 aircrafts never found; you're right, that's all about the Bermuda Triangle. Few people are aware of what the life is like at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle – are you ready to meet the most shocking and scary creatures ever? Dragonfish live at the staggering depth of 5 to 7 thousand feet. This fish looks quite terrifying, with its black coloring and the light it produces on its own. Unlike other deep-water inhabitants, dragonfish produces light in the infrared range while the blue and green range is what other fish stick to. Vampire Squid has the largest eyes in terms of proportions in the world and is born to live in the depth. These animals are also covered with photophores which distract predators and lure prey. The mouth of the gulper eel is loosely hinged which makes it extremely wide and big. In fact, the length of the jaw of the eel reaches one-fourth of the length of their body. Despite being the owner of an enormous mouth, the gulper eel has tiny teeth, and this means that it isn't supposed to prey on large animals. The Goblin Shark reaches 13 ft in size and is also called the Vampire Shark due to the fact that it avoids light at all cost. Due to this feature, you can see the shark in its natural habitat only if you go as deep as 890 to 4300 ft. Pharynx, a complex feeding apparatus that helps Eunice Aphroditois catch the prey, can turn inside out, not unlike glove fingers. It has strong and extremely sharp mandibles which can easily cut the prey in half due to the strength and speed of the worm's attack. These are just some of the creatures that lurk in the depth of the Bermuda Triangle. Who knows what other unbelievable horror-movie beasts we can meet there? Nobody knows for sure what makes crafts disappear in this area. -Dragonfish looks quite terrifying, with its black coloring and the light it produces on its own in case of danger. -The Vampire Squid has is bright red eyes and crimson cloak that looks like webbing. In case of a threat, these creatures can invert their skin exposing their spines. -The pouch-like structure of the lower jaw allows the eel to deposit its prey there. Even the stomach of the eel can stretch so much that the creature can hold there a huge amount of food. -The Goblin Shark reaches 13 ft in size and is also called the Vampire Shark due to the fact that it avoids light at all cost. As soon as the prey appears in the vicinity, the jaw of the shark will elongate and grab it. -The worm buries itself in the seafloor with just a fraction of its body exposed. It has five antennae it uses to sense the prey.
