Florence in a Day: Hidden Gems & Top Attractions https://goo.gl/7E5DGZ Trastevere, Rome in a Day: Hidden Gems & Top Attractions https://goo.gl/NSNMph Hey guys, Sean here from The Roman Guy. We’re here in Roma Termini station, it’s 6:05 AM and we have the 6:15 AM train for a Rome to Venice day trip. We generally suggest you spend at least one night in Venice, but not every vacation has time for that. We understand so we’re going to show you how to see Venice in a day. Venice is made up from 118 island and is home to over a quarter million people. The historical center itself and what we call the main island, is home to just around 55,000 residents. With an average of over 30 million visitors per year, it’s a great idea to plan your day well. Venice is about 15 times smaller than Rome, and all the top things to do are within walking distance from one another. Venice is in the Veneto region of Italy, on the Adriatic Sea. By train it’s about 3.5 hours from Rome, 2 hours from Florence and 2.5 hours from Milan. Don’t get off at Venice Mestre, Venice S. Lucia is your stop! From Venice Santa Lucia train station you can either take an expensive water taxi which is really cool, or the vaporetto which is like a boat version of a bus. You can take number 2 which will take you straight to St Mark's Square. You can buy your tickets right outside the train station, and a single journey will cost you 7.50 euros as of 2018. Remember to validate the ticket before you get on board. The ticket is good for 75 minutes after you validate it and you can hop on and hop off as you go. The trip to St Mark's Square takes about 30 minutes. St Mark’s Square is one of the most important and most recognizable squares in all of Italy. If you’re planning on going inside St Mark’s Basilica, you can either buy tickets online or book a guided tour to skip the line. Don’t show up without a ticket, or you’ll spend your day in Venice waiting in line. Remember that entering St Mark’s Basilica, you’ll be entering a holy place, so make sure you have your shoulders and knees covered. On the right hand side of St Mark's Basilica, you’ll find the Doge’s Palace. The special itinerary tour takes you to the once famous cell of Casanova and you also get to go across the Bridge of Sighs which is super cool! You can visit the Doge’s Palace every day from 8:30am to 7pm April through October or until 5:30pm November to March. This clock has been keeping time in Venice for over 500 years and built in the late 15th century. Venetian legends hold that when the clock was revealed, it was so beautiful that the Doge had the clockmaker blinded so he could never create anything to rival it. If you’re a lover of great views, definitely check out the Campanile or Bell Tower, open only April through to October. Most people just think it’s the Libreria Acqua Alta is just a quirky store with gondolas inside but there’s actually a method to the madness. The name translates to the Library of High Water, most books are protected in bathtubs or even a gondola. This is because the canals flood and it’s the best way to keep the books protected. Now we’ll head for a casual lunch at Osteria al Portego. In Venetian bars they sell something called Cicchetti, different mixed foods; fish, meat, all kind of fried items… The Rialto Bridge is one of the most recognized attractions in Europe, let alone Venice. It was actually first built as a pontoon bridge in the 12th century. Later they rebuilt it out of wood but it burnt down a few times and collapsed on even more occasions. Finally they completed what you see today in 1591. Nino & Friends is a cool little shop that we happened to stumble upon, they had the best cookie I’ve ever eaten in my life. This city is a fishing village, so definitely walk through the fish market, which is a great picture of the local culture. The Jewish Ghetto in Venice is the oldest Jewish ghetto in the world. It was created here in 1516. In the Jewish Ghetto neighborhood you can find many cicchetteria and restaurants such as Mezzopieno, Bacaro dai Morosi and Birreria Zanon. At this point, check your watch, see what time it is and start making your way back to the train station.

Visit Venice - 5 Vital Tips for Visiting Venice, Italy
Heading to Venice on Vacation & Want a bit more insider information on this amazing island city? Here we have 5 quick tips to help travelers get the most out of visiting Venice, Italy. With over 20 million visitors a year Venice is quite popular, but let us help you figure out a few things you should know before you go to Venice. 1. Be Prepared to Get Lost: wandering the back alleys and canals is vital for enjoying Venice, Italy. However, some tourists might get a bit scared not being on a popular tourist route. Well with tons of signs and locals that know tourists get lost you won't be lost long (it is an island after all). So grab a map and still get lost enjoying those amazing hidden squares and cafes. 2. Pack Your Patience: with 20 million tourists Venice is inundated with tourists all parts of the years (especially in summer). So be prepared to wait in line for sights, wait for restauratns, fight through crowds to go over the Railto bridge etc. 3. Don't Expect The Greatest Italian Food: with all of the tourists that come not all the restaurants try their hardest. They know tons more tourists are coming the next day. So ask one of the locals for some local places to try some local food and you will be better off. 4. Dress Modestly: some of the churches will not let you in to visit their collections if you are not dressed appropriately. 5. There Is More Than Just The Venice Island in Venice: go explore some of the outlying islands like Murano where you can see the glass blowers, or visit the beaches just outside of town in the warmer months. Also, you can save a lot of money staying in Mestre instead of on the island of Venice. Day Trip to Venice - FULL VIDEO TOUR (Venice, Italy)
We decided to take a day trip to Venice! We drove in from Milan and stopped in Verona on the way. We first drove across the bridge to Venice, and this is where the roads end. You will be greeted by parking attendants trying to usher you in for 20 euros for the day. Kinda expensive! We then drove back across the bridge and parked on the other side, right next to Venezia-Mestre train station, and took the train from Venezia-Mestre back across the bridge. The parking was street parking right next to the train station and was really cheap, as was the train itself! (Hence the two bridge crossings at the start of the video! lol) When we arrived at Venice train station, we pretty much exited the train station and was greeted with the Grand Canal! Gondalas can be embarked upon from here too. We walked all the way to St. Mark's Square, which took probably a good day with plenty of time to visit shops and things along the way. From St. Mark's Square, we took the Vaporetto (Venice public transport boat - no roads here! lol) back to Venice train station. NOTE: The Vaporetto is pretty much like a public bus, crowded, full of locals, and not exactly a tourist fun-packed experience. Venice (English /ˈvɛnɪs/ VEN-iss; Italian: Venezia [veˈnɛttsja]; Venetian: Venesia [veˈnɛsja]) is a city in northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto region. It is situated across a group of 117 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by bridges. These are located in the shallow Venetian Lagoon, an enclosed bay that lies between the mouths of the Po and the Piave Rivers. Parts of Venice are renowned for the beauty of their settings, their architecture, and artwork. The lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a World Heritage Site. In 2014, 264,579 people resided in Comune di Venezia, of whom around 55,000 live in the historic city of Venice (Centro storico). Together with Padua and Treviso, the city is included in the Padua-Treviso-Venice Metropolitan Area (PATREVE), with a total population of 2.6 million. PATREVE is a statistical metropolitan area without any degree of autonomy. The name is derived from the ancient Veneti people who inhabited the region by the 10th century BC. The city was historically the capital of the Republic of Venice. Venice has been known as the "La Dominante," "Serenissima," "Queen of the Adriatic," "City of Water," "City of Masks," "City of Bridges," "The Floating City," and "City of Canals." The Republic of Venice was a major financial and maritime power during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and a staging area for the Crusades and the Battle of Lepanto, as well as a very important center of commerce (especially silk, grain, and spice) and art in the 13th century up to the end of the 17th century. The City State of Venice is considered to have been the first real international financial center which gradually emerged from the 9th century to its peak in the 14th century. This made Venice a wealthy city throughout most of its history. It is also known for its several important artistic movements, especially the Renaissance period. After the Napoleonic Wars and the Congress of Vienna, the Republic was annexed by the Austrian Empire, until it became part of the Kingdom of Italy in 1866, following a referendum held as a result of the Third Italian War of Independence. Venice has played an important role in the history of symphonic and operatic music, and it is the birthplace of Antonio Vivaldi. Venice Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Rising from the waters of Venice Lagoon is the Italian city of Venice, a city like no other. Begin your visit in the central district of San Marco, and walk upon one of the world’s great squares, St Mark’s Square. The square is surrounded by some of the city’s finest jewels such as St Mark’s Basilica, St Mark’s Campanile and Doge’s Palace. Just outside stand the Columns of San Marco and San Teodoro. From here, journey along one of the world’s great aquatic thoroughfares, The Grand Canal. Glide past elegant palazzos; once the homes of wealthy merchants, today many of these palaces house important museums and galleries. Known as The City Of Bridges, Venice has hundreds to explore. The Accademia Bridge links the San Marco district to the Accademia Gallery, and offers some of the Grand Canal’s finest views. The oldest of the Grand Canal’s four crossings is the Rialto Bridge, which today still serves as the gateway to the Rialto Markets. The most famous of all is the Bridge of Sighs, which connects Doge’s Palace to the historic prison. Venice is a city to get lost in, so put away your map and let her surprise you. Discover waterfront promenades of The Zattere and the sleepy canals and spacious piazzas of Castello. On the tiny island of Murano, glassmakers have been creating works of incredible delicacy and color for over 700 years. Further across the lagoon, the island of Burano is famed for its brightly colored houses and exquisite lace. Venice has shone her light into the far corners of the world for over one and a half thousand years. Just remember, this city smiles upon those who linger. So stay for a few nights, or stay for a month, and savor every moment she has to offer. http://www.expedia.com/Venice.d179981.Destination-Travel-Guides -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on social media: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Expedia Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/expedia Instagram: http://instagram.com/expedia Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/Expedia/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+Expedia -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on our travel blog, Viewfinder: http://viewfinder.expedia.com/

We cover activities you won't find in a typical Venice tourism brochure, Venice itinerary or Venice, Italy city tour also known as Venezia Italia. 20 Things to do in Venice, Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript: (VENEZIA ITALIA): We’re taking you on a whirlwind tour of Venice in winter visiting the famed Floating City. Join us as we show you the best things to see, do and eat in Venice. The Vaporetto is Venice’s water bus service. The standard ticket is 7.50 Euros and valid for 60 minutes, the 1 day pass is 20 Euros and valid for 24 hours. The most visited attraction in Venice: Piazza San Marco where there is quite a bit to see and do around the square beginning with St Mark’s Basilica. St Mark’s Campanile, a tall brick bell tower was once used by approaching ships as a beacon to guide them home where you get great views of the city. Then you have the Doge’s Palace, which was the residence of the Doge of Venice, the ruler of the former Republic of Venice built in the Venetian Gothic style. Don't forget the Bridge of SIghs, whose name refers to the sighs of prisoners who would get their last glimpse of Venice as they were led from Doge's Palace to their cells. Across to the other side of the Grand Canal, you have the Basilica of Saint Mary of Health and the Galleria dell’Accademia in case you’re in the mood for art. A restaurant we really enjoyed La Zucca - a place where all the dishes are made with pumpkin! The Rialto Market specializes in produce and fresh seafood for self-catering. Let’s talk about island hopping in Venice: Founded in the 5th century, Torcello is even older than Venice and was the original settlement in the Venetian Lagoon with lots of walking paths, nature and Byzantine mosaics. Burano is known for its lace work and brightly coloured homes with plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops to browse. Mazzorbo island sits next to Burano and is connected by a bridge while being known for its vineyards and orchards. Murano is renowned for its glass production dating back to 1291 when the glassmakers in Venice were forced to relocate by the Venetian government. Lido is an 11-kilometre sandbar island that shelters the lagoon from the Adriatic Sea with beaches, lots of seaside homes, and this is also where the Venice Film Festival takes place. A restaurant we liked in Venice is Osteria Mocenigo specializing in local cuisine. Try the “Sarde in saor” - a typical Venetian dish made with sardines. While your vaporetto pass is valid ride the canals at night and watch the Floating City come to life. We hope you enjoyed this Venice travel guide and that it gave you a few ideas for your own trip. Travel Vlog 2018 : Venice, Italy
Travel Vlog 2018 : Venice, Italy - Attractions in Venice, The Rialto Bridge, San Marco Square, San Marco Basilica, Grand canal Travel Vlog 4K https://www.youtube.com/TravelVlog4K Free things to do in Venice ======================= Your visit to Venice doesn’t have to be super expensive. Whilst accommodation in Venice itself costs a bit more than elsewhere in Italy there are also plenty of free things to do in Venice to keep you busy! 1. Visit the Rialto Bridge, Venice To us the Ponte di Rialto (the Rialto Bridge, Venice) is the true heart of Venice and the sight from this bridge over the Grand Canal is one that will always make my heart flutter in remembrance. The Rialto Bridge in Venice is the most famous of the 4 bridges that crosses over the Grand Canal. The bridge, a stone arch, was constructed between 1855 and 1591 to replace the wooden bridge that was very similar in design. Today this bridge is one of the most tourist visited sites in Venice and rightly so. The atmosphere and vibe and sights here are simply remarkable. I can’t even count how many times we crossed the Rialto Bridge on our visit, and how many photos we took from the bridge over the canal. One of our favourite attractions in Venice, you simply have to ensure you visit it all times of the day and night. 2. Get lost in the atmosphere at the San Marco Square, Venice The San Marco Piazza is world famous for a reason. It is one massive piazza and the architecture here is simply beautiful. The masterpiece of the San Marco square in Venice is of course the San Marco Basilica. The piazza is lined with several restaurants, most of which have an orchestra playing. The atmosphere that the orchestra creates here at the square is simply divine. But beware, if you choose to sit down at one of these ‘orchestra’ restaurants, you will be charged an additional fee on top of your food and drinks to help cover the costs of the band. 3. Visit the Bridge of Sighs, Venice The famous Bridge of Sighs, was built out of limestone and dates back to the 17th century. The Bridge spans the Palace River and connects the Old Prison and interrogation rooms in the Dodge Palace to the New Prison. It is probably one of the most visited and photographed attractions in Venice, so expect to see a crowd of people. 4. Markets in Venice At San Polo, Campo de la Pescaria, you will find the daily fresh markets in Venice. This market is beaming with local fresh fish and delicious juicy fruits and veggies. We bought a supply of fruits to add to our breakfasts whilst in Venice. If you have the time, make sure you go and absorb the hustle and bustle of a busy market atmosphere here. Open every day (except Sundays) from 7:30-13:30. (The fish market is only till 12pm) 5. Explore the history of the Jewish Ghetto, Venice The Jewish Ghetto is an area of Venice where all Jews were forced to live from the 16th till the 18th Century. This is a really interesting area of Venice with a great historic story to tell. You can still find a Jewish community living here, and lots of little restaurants and bakeries that sell Jewish specialities. This area was made famous by Shakespear’s ‘Merchant of Venice’ and is also home of the Jewish Museum: Museo Communità Ebraica. If you love learning more about the history of places, it would be worth doing a Jewish Ghetto, Venice tour here. The tours last around an hour and you can find tour guides at the Synagogue, gift shop or Kosher Cafe. Definitely an attraction of Venice to check out if you have enough time! Tourist attractions in Venice that you need to Pay for! ========================================= Here is a few of the main tourist attractions in Venice that you will need to pay for. Some of which are very affordable whilst others such as the Venice Gondola Rides will always remain a more expensive attraction. 6. Treat yourself to Venice Gondola Rides Of all the things we did in Venice, the Gondola ride was our favourite. We found it incredibly relaxing and we loved the view of Venice and the buildings from low down on the water. I think your experience of the Gondola Ride in Venice will greatly depend on the area in which you choose to grab one. We knew that we wanted to experience the ride in quieter areas of Venice so avoided the more popular spots, where the Gondolas on the water are lined up bumper to bumper on the canal. 7. Venture inside the Basilica di San Marco, Venice 8. Enjoy the city views from the San Marco Campanile, Venice 9. Relax on an affordable Grand Canal Cruise

Visit Italy - The DON'Ts of Visiting Italy
Read the Blog on What Tourists Should Not Do When They Visit Italy: https://woltersworld.com/12-things-tourists-should-not-do-when-they-visit-italy/ GRAB A WOLTERS WORLD SHIRT http://www.woltersworld.com/shop What You Shouldn't Do When You Are in Italy Visiting Italy is an amazing experience whether you are seeing the Roman ruins throughout the country in places like Rome or Naples, but for all the amazing things you should do in Italy (visit Venice, Florence, Rome, Ravenna, Amalfi Coast, eat until you explode) there are things you DON'T DO when you come to Italy & Here are our 12 things NOT TO DO in Italy when you are traveling Italy. Filmed in Vicenza, Italy Copyright Mark Wolters 2016 The Don'ts of Italy 1. Don't expect to get discount prices on fancy Italian luxury brands. 2. Don't eat near tourist sights. You will be ripped off and not get as good of Italian food as you would away from the tourist sights. 3. Don't Tip. They already charge you for service. 4. You Don't have to scream louder to get people to understand you. 5. Don't worry about overdressing, the Italians will always look better than you. 6. Don't just visit Rome and Venice, there is so much more to Italy. 7. Don't share your pizza and make sure you do eat it with your fork and knife. 8. Don't use the fast trains for short distances, they are not worth the significantly higher prices. 9. Don't expect to see spaghetti and meatballs on the menu TOGETHER. They will be there separately, but not together. 10. Don't expect a big breakfast in Italy. Just coffee and a cookie. 11. Don't overpack. You will be limited on space when traveling in Italy so pack accordingly. 12. Don't expect to be served food in a restaurant between 3pm and 7pm. 10 Things That Will SHOCK You About Visiting Italy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGhlkXw10Z0 10 Things That Will SHOCK You About Visiting The USA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89aEoIjzupk 10 Things That Will SHOCK You About Germany https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyHi2FESIVo USA Today & 10Best's #1 Independent Travel Videographer 2014 FlipKey by TripAdvisor Top 10 Travel Bloggers 2014 Grab Wolters World Merchandise & Travel Gear at http://www.woltersworld.com/shop Our Gear: Sony Alpha 6000: Our favorite camera for vlogging. Venice: A Tour - Italy Day 3 - Grand Canal, St. Mark's Square & Basilica, Santa Lucia Station
This is Venice: a Tour, on Day 3 of our 12 day journey across northern and central Italy. Venice is a city of water, built on more than a hundred islands, with bridges, but no roads. Today we arrive in this medieval city in a lagoon, ride a boat the length of the Grand Canal, find ourselves a great hotel, feed pigeons in front of St. Mark’s Basilica, ascend to the top of the Campanile bell tower for a great view over the red-brown roofs, cruise around the island city at sunset, and listen to dueling orchestras in St. Mark’s Square after dark.

One day in Venice 360° Virtual Tour
Venice is definitely one-of-a-kind. Where else would you find a city on the water? Its location gives it a unique and a bit mysterious character. And it is also very romantic due to the ever-present bridges and churches. The city centre makes you feel like a time traveller travelling back in time to the époque of Casanova - probably the very best-known citizen of Venice. If you’re lucky enough to visit the city during the carnivals, you will be up for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And don’t forget to stop by in one of the many restaurants to taste the exquisite local cuisine. It is usually Venice or Cinque Terre. But we did both! The feel of the two areas are completely different. From La Spezia, we took a ferry ride, which took us to all of the villages of Cinque Terre. I hope you guys get a sense of how nice it was there! Day-trip from Venice to Murano and Burano island
On our third day we went from venice to murano island. The small island of the glass makers is nice and also interesting to see. After a short stay we took the next ship to Burano. The island is even smaller than Murano but more colourful and nice.

ITALY - 7-Day Trip (Timelapse)
I went on a trip to Italy in November for 7 days. I've visited Venice, Florence, Siena, Assisi, Subiaco and Rome. I've received my Xiaomi Yi camera only 2 weeks before the trip so I had limited time to prepare myself to shoot this video. I had no experience at all with filming stuff. Camera placement and settings were really challenging for me, but I tried my best. It was a lot of fun putting effort in this project that I challenged myself to do, and that's why I created this channel. I'll try to continuously upgrade my gear, get better at filming/editing and upload new content. If you liked this video subscribe to my channel :) Also check my other channel where I have gaming stuff.
