Top 50 Saturday Morning Cartoon Intros From The 80's
This is a video of my top 50 favorite Saturday Morning Cartoon Intros from the 1980's. I do not own any of the content. All material contained herein is the respective property of their owners, makers, and what-have-you. I made this to share with the public a simpler time when I remember waking up every Saturday morning, with my cereal in one hand and favorite toy in the other, and watching these awesome cartoons. This is to educate the younger generations of how time was spent as a 80's child on Saturday mornings. Please enjoy my memories as I share them with those of you who remember them as well, and those of you who never had this experience.

Saturday Morning Commercials 1990, 1994, 1995
I wanted to upload this complete but youtube wouldn't let me. My sister saved our old Garfield and Friends tapes that appeared to have been recorded in 1990, 1994 and 1995. So for copyrights had to cut out the Garfield. To recount every commercial here would take awhile but they are in the order they went. The first taping was around 1990 on WGN. The second was CBS October 8th, 1994 (able to date by the afterschool special mentioned). It appears the rest of the tape was either late 1994 or early 1995. The 1990 bit would have been filmed in Iowa, the rest in Colorado on Channel 2. Jungle Jim's Playground in Aurora is mentioned a few times. Listed products and shows (selected, not complete): Bonkers (TV series), Gargoyles, Wrestling, Kin'x, Barbie Cyclist, Sleepytime Barbie, and Skipper the babysitter. Several dolls including Gymnast Jenny. A solid mix of boy and girl aimed commercials. LOTS of cereal: Sprinkles, Kix Berry, Trix, Lucky Charms, Kellog's, etc. Gushers, Dunkaroos, Capri Sun, McDonald's. Brief Felix the Cat interludes as well. Another tape to come soon!

ABC Fall Saturday morning cartoon promo (1989)
Building hype for the Fall 1989 Saturday morning cartoon lineup: ABC released this teaser of what was to come, complete with cartoon clips and live action appearances by costumed characters such as the Gummi Bears, Slimer, Beetlejuice, Scooby Doo, Bugs & Daffy, and even a guy in Ghostbusters gear. The promo used a slower rendition of the Isley Brothers' hit, "Shout." If you hadn't reacquainted yourself with these promos since 1989, the jingle at the end will resurface from the very back of your memory banks: "Something's happenin'...here on ABC." NBC 1986-1987 Saturday morning cartoon bumpers
In the Spring of 1986, NBC began using these bumpers between all Saturday morning cartoons. These "rollercoaster" transitions were computer animated and took the viewer down a steep curve of a rollercoaster with balloons flying in the distance, and into either one of three objects: a retro looking TV set, a modern clock or a drum kit. After that sequence, a still shot of the cartoon would be shown with an "after these messages" notice. Upon return, only a still card of the cartoon was shown with a "we now return..." message. All of these transitions used the same 5-second instrumental, and as you may have recognized, were voiced by Casey Kasem. We've included 5 transitions from the 1986 Saturday morning cartoon lineup, covering all 3 versions of the sequence: 0:00 - 0:05 Punky Brewster will return after these messages/TV set 0:05 - 0:09 Punky Brewster: we now return 0:10 - 0:15 Alvin and the Chipmunks will return after these messages/Clock 0:15 - 0:19 Alvin and the Chipmunks: we now return 0:20 - 0:26 Kidd Video will return after these messages/Drum kit 0:27 - 0:30 Kidd Video: we now return 0:31 - 0:37 Mr. T will return after these messages/Drum kit 0:38 - 0:41 Mr. T: we now return 0:43 - 0:49 Spiderman and His Amazing Friends will return after these messages/Drum kit 0:50 - 0:54 Spiderman and His Amazing Friends: we now return These bumpers ran between the following programs: ● Kissyfur (8:00 AM) ● Gummi Bears (8:30 AM) ● The Smurfs (9:00 AM) ● Alvin and the Chipmunks (10:30 AM) ● Foofur (11:00 AM) ● It's Punky Brewster (11:30 AM) ● Lazer Tag Academy (12:00 PM) ● Kidd Video (12:30 PM) Follow us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/retrostatic Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/retrostatic Folow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/retrostatic

Enjoy... or don't... you know, whatever... There are some major volume issues as these were all recorded at different times, and tape speeds, and vcrs, so you are warned about the potential volume issues.

First weekend without Saturday morning cartoons
UNDATED (CNN) -- That's all folks! Saturday morning cartoons are no more. The CW was the last American broadcast channel still airing cartoons on Saturday mornings. It pulled the plug. Cartoons dominated Saturday mornings from the 1960s through the '80s. But the networks just couldn't compete with cartoon channels on cable and satellite. Plus, kids' viewing habits changed, thanks to new technology like DVDs, DVRs and streaming services. Follow us on Twitter @Local12 and LIKE us on Facebook for updates!

This is a funny full fall promo for NBC's Saturday Morning cartoons and show in the 1983-84 season. I love the Alvin and the Chipmunks theme! **This is from Echoes of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s commercials and promos collection**

CBS 1984-1985 Saturday morning cartoon bumpers (all 4)
CBS ran these "UFO" themed bumpers between their Saturday morning cartoon lineup during the 1984-1985 season. If you have a memory going back to that year, the nostalgia of these network bumpers will hit you real hard - they were creative, attention-grabbing and had unforgettable background audio effects. A random transition appeared before and after every commercial break throughout the entire Saturday morning cartoon lineup, and either had no voice-over, or announced the name of the show. The four transitions are: 0:00 - 0:05 Observatory stalks a UFO in a night sky 0:06 - 0:12 A funnel-shaped grid flies through space and takes you in 0:13 - 0:18 UFOs (shaped like toy jacks) ascend 0:19 - 0:25 A comet hits the little dipper, which spills glittery dust These transitions ran between the cartoons: ● Shirt Tales (8:00 AM/1984) ● The Biskitts (8:00 AM/1985) ● Get Along Gang (8:30 AM) ● Muppet Babies (9:00 AM) ● Saturday Supercade (9:30-10:30 AM/1984; 11:30 AM-12:30 PM/1985) ● Pole Position (10:30 AM/1984; 12:30 PM/1985) ● Dungeons & Dragons (11:00 AM/1984, 9:30 AM/1985) ● Pryor's Place (11:30 AM/1984) ● The Bugs Bunny & Road Runner Show (12:00-1:30 PM/1984; 10:00-11:00 AM/1985) ● The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show (1:30 PM/1984, 1:00 PM/1985) Follow us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/retrostatic Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/retrostatic Folow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/retrostatic
