Sea lions are sea mammals characterized by external ear flaps, long foreflippers, the ability to walk on all fours, and short, thick hair. Together with the fur seals they comprise the family Otariidae, eared seals, which contains six extant and one extinct species (the Japanese sea lion) in five genera. Their range extends from the subarctic to tropical waters of the global ocean in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, with the notable exception of the northern Atlantic Ocean. They have an average life span of 20--30 years. A male California sea lion weighs on an average about 300 kg (660 lb) and is about 8 ft (2.4 m) long, while the female sea lion weighs 100 kg (220 lb) and is 6 ft (1.8 m) long. The largest sea lion is the Steller's sea lion which can weigh 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) and grow to a length of 10 ft (3.0 m). Sea lions consume large quantities of food at a time and are known to eat about 5--8% of their body weight (about 15--35 lb (6.8--16 kg)) at a single feeding. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_lion Together with the fur seals, they constitute the Otariidae family, collectively known as eared seals. Until recently, sea lions were grouped under a single subfamily called Otariinae, whereas fur seals were grouped in the subfamily Arcocephalinae. This division was based on the most prominent common feature shared by the fur seals and absent in the sea lions, namely the dense underfur characteristic of the latter. Recent genetic evidence, however, strongly suggests Callorhinus, the genus of the northern fur seal, is more closely related to some sea lion species than to the other fur seal genus, Arctocephalus. Therefore, the fur seal/sea lion subfamily distinction has been eliminated from many taxonomies. Sea lions are related to the walrus and the seal. Nonetheless, all fur seals have certain features in common: the fur, generally smaller sizes, farther and longer foraging trips, smaller and more abundant prey items and greater sexual dimorphism. All sea lions have certain features in common, in particular their coarse, short fur, greater bulk and larger prey than fur seals. For these reasons, the distinction remains useful. Some species of sea lion are readily trainable and are often a popular attraction at zoos and aquariums. The archetypal circus "seal" performing behaviors such as throwing and catching balls on its nose and clapping is almost always a sea lion. The U.S. Navy's Marine Mammal Program, based in San Diego, has trained sea lions to detain scuba divers. Sea lion attacks on humans are rare. In a highly unusual attack in 2007 in Western Australia, a sea lion leapt from the water and seriously mauled a 13-year-old girl surfing behind a speedboat. The sea lion appeared to be preparing for a second attack when the girl was rescued. An Australian marine biologist opined the sea lion may have viewed the girl "like a rag doll toy" to be played with. In San Francisco, where an increasingly large population of California sea lion crowds dock along San Francisco Bay, there have been incidents in recent years of swimmers being bitten on the legs by large, aggressive males, possibly as territorial acts. The Moche people of ancient Peru worshipped the sea and its animals. They often depicted sea lions in their art.

This strange sea creature is the Glaucus Atlanticus also known as the blue angel, blue dragon and blue sea slug is a marine gastropod mollusk. This tiny animal species is quite the predator. You will find this colorful family member of sea slugs in temperate and tropical waters. Regions include the East and South coast of South Africa, European waters, off the East coast of Australia and Mozambique. Quite tiny, the species normal size is up to 3cm, but it does feed on larger prey like the venomous Portuguese man of war consuming the organism in its entirety. The blue angel is immune to the man of wars venom, collecting it for its own use, using a much more concentrated venom, its sting is more powerful and deadly than the man o war. The poison is stored inside the finger like structures sticking out of its body known as cerata, this is just one of its defense mechanisms. The beautiful blue underside of the blue angel acts as a camouflage from air born predators as it floats upside down on the surface of the water. Its back is grayish in color and faces downward, camouflaging it from predators looking up from below the water. The Blue angel is a hermaphrodite allowing both slugs to produce egg strings after mating which they lay on driftwood, or the skeletons of their victims. There is so much more to learn about this intriguing creature, but we do know that While they are beautiful to behold, they are dangerous to actually hold. Watch Port Isaac RNLI lifeboat volunteers racing through rough seas on New Year's Eve in a desperate search to find an angler who was washed off rocks near Tintagel Head. It's believed the man had been in the water for up to an hour before he was found. The video was shot by crew member Matt Main using an RNLI helmet camera and finishes abruptly because it was damaged during the recovery of the man into the D class inshore lifeboat. The fisherman was taken back to Boscastle where he was met by paramedics and then transported on to hospital where he is recovering. An amazing day at sea - meeting the magnificent Norwegian richness from its pristine environment - nature at its best regarding all matters in the condition (season) of Winter. We went out fishing for the Atlantic Cod (Gadus Morhua) - and that is the only fish species we got - even in an environment with loads of other species. And we got exactly as much as we needed. When being in nature this way - in the ways of nature itself - she (Mother Earth) gives off all and everything from her absolute best sides. Lots of surprices - real events that normally is not in our daily lives - sets in, and makes it like an adventure story - and its all LIVE. We sure are grateful for all what we have up here on Helgeland (The Holy Land) - And we are so happy and joyful for having the opportunity to share this with you all here on YouTube - for all to see and be a part of. ... so, when you see the real fish ..... and the eagles ... and the stunning panorama and view ... know that such places still do exist here on our beloved planet. ... even me doing all the videoes out there .. and living here 24-7 for many many years, were "taken away" during some of the recordings .... I fully and completely went into the state of entusiastically being an emotional loving human ... online with the nature .... I only have to say : "Thank you, thank you and thank you" .... I sure am a lucky man :) In the Light with Love to you all from a rather breath taken and always nature loving --- Bengt --- www.ratfishoil.org www.rositarealfoods.com www.ja-jeg-er.com

It's hard to believe that already twelve months have passed since the release of Astronaut's first, and now a very sought-after 7" - 'Stay True' featuring T.R.A.C., Drumat!c and IceRocks. During that that time, we've managed to establish a steady, and continuous flow of incredible releases. It was only appropriate to come up with something unique to celebrate this very fruitful year. The fact that BA once again teamed up with Brooklyn MC, T.R.A.C. is no coincidence, the picture disc format...only appropriate. 'Sea Of Tranquility' takes the listener on a hypnotic flight through the upper stratosphere to a very special place. The very calm and eerie instrumental (produced by D Melodious) acts here as a quick anesthetic. The message becomes clear after only few opening verses. 'Show Ready...(Ya Know?)' is a head-nodder that gives the listener a jolt of positive energy. T.R.A.C.'s impeccable flow combines perfectly with Dee's knocking beat to create another sure shot. Ya know?" -Kuba Bujko, CEO & Founder Recorded, mixed & mastered by Lewis Parker Artwork by Mr.Krum

CLICK HERE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOJRwrmABksiOeX9gJCzFgQ/videos ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some of the largest creatures this world has ever seen lived millions of years ago. Here are ten of the largest, most fearsome sea monsters ever to prowl the oceans:10 Shastasaurus ShastasaurusThe ichthyosaurs were marine predators that looked like modern dolphins, and could reach a massive size during the Triassic period over 200 million years ago.Shastasaurus, the largest marine reptile species ever found, was a variety of ichthyosaur that could grow to over 65 feet (20m), much longer than most other predators. But one of the largest creatures to ever swim the the sea wasn’t exactly a fearsome predator; Shastasaurus was a specialized suction feeder, eating mainly fish.9 Dakosaurus Dakosaurus Dakosaurus was first discovered in Germany and, with its odd reptilian-yet-fishy body, was one of the top predators in the sea during the Jurassic period.Fossil remains have been found across a very widespread distribution, turning up everywhere from England to Russia to Argentina. Though it is commonly compared to modern crocs, Dakosaurus could reach a length of 16 feet (5m). Its unique teeth have led scientists to consider it an apex predator during its reign of terror. 8 Thalassomedon Thalassomedon was a species of Pliosaur whose name translates from Greek to “sea lord” – and for good reason. They were massive predators, reaching lengths of up to 40 feet (12m).Its flippers were nearly 7 feet (2m) long, allowing it to swim the depths with deadly efficiency. Its reign as a top predator lasted through the late Cretaceous period, finally coming to an end when the sea saw new and larger predators like the Mosasaur. 7 Nothosaurus Nothosaurus Nothosaurus, only about 13 feet (4m) long, were aggressive hunters. They were armed with a mouth full of sharp, outward-pointing teeth, suggesting a diet of squid and fish. Nothosaurus is thought to have mainly been an ambush predator, using its sleek reptilian figure to sneak up on prey and take it by surprise. It’s believed that Nothosaurs were related to pliosaurs, another variety of deep sea predators. Fossil evidence suggests that they lived during the Triassic period over 200 million years ago. 6 Tylosaurus Tylosaurus Tylosaurus was a species of Mosasaur. It was enormous, reaching more than 50 feet (15m) in length. The tylosaurus was a meat eater with a very diverse diet. Stomach remains show signs of fish, sharks, smaller mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, and even some flightless birds. They lived during the late Cretaceous in the seas that covered North America, where they sat firmly atop the marine food chain for several million years.5 Thalattoarchon Saurophagis T. saurophagis Only recently discovered, T. saurophagis was the size of a school bus, reaching nearly 30 feet (9m) long. It is an early species of ichthyosaur that lived during the Triassic period, 244 million years ago. Because they were alive shortly after the Permian extinction (Earth’s largest mass extinction, when 95% of marine life is thought to have been wiped out), its discovery is giving scientists new insights into the quick recovery of the ecosystem. 4 Tanystropheus Tanystropheus While Tanystropheus was not strictly marine, its diet was mainly fish and scientists think it spent most of its time in the water. Tanystropheus was a reptile that could reach 20 feet (6m) long, and it is thought to have been alive during the Triassic period nearly 215 million years ago.

When it comes to stocking up on material for nightmares, it's hard to beat this photo of what appears to be a monstrous sea lamprey. Reddit user jlitch uploaded the picture in mid-February with the deceptively innocent tagline, "Friend... caught this fishing in NJ." According to a set Facebook photos, this eellike creature was caught in the Raritan River, somewhere in northern New Jersey. Perhaps most frightening, the rings teeth of displayed in the photo have a very clear purpose: Sea lampreys latch onto their prey, then secrete digestive fluids that slowly eat away and break down the host. The Great Lakes Fishery Commission reports a sea lamprey can be expected to kill upwards of 40 pounds of fish over the course of its life. Survival rates for particular species of host fish can be as low as 15 percent. Unfortunately, we can't be completely certain this photo really does depict a sea lamprey. "The photo doesn't allow counting of gill openings (seven per side for sea lampreys), but based on size alone, this does appear to be a sea lamprey," a New York Department of Environmental Conservation spokeswoman told Outside Magazine, according to the New York Daily News. The species typically grows to 2.5 feet in length, but some sea lampreys have been documented at sizes of up to 3 feet long, reports the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. Sea lampreys are a native to the Atlantic Ocean and are found along the U.S. Eastern Seaboard and the coast of Europe, as well as in the Great Lakes, where it is considered an invasive species.

Well come with me to a place by the sea, If your ship breaks down, you can always find me, And Dirty J chillin' underneath the shady tree , Our fans are always welcome with our friends and family. And if you wish you can stay, as long as you please Just lend a helping hand up at our cabin by the sea Where everyday is beautiful, the sun, the sand, the breeze And everybody lives together here in harmony And we'll sing Just as loud as we please, And we will be, Forever so free, So come follow me, cabin by the sea. Picture you and me in the cabin by the sea. You paint the fence, i'll hang the tire from the tree. Our friends are all around, and the storm was a no show Said we look better in the black and white photo. Picture you and me in the cabin by the sea. Sit up on a porch and we can burn a couple trees. Our friends are all around and the storm was a no show, Said we looked better in the black and white photo . What the photograph don't show, is where we're headed tomorrow And when we have to go, we'll always be together in the black and white photo. Gather up some rocks and make a circle in the sand. We'll fill it up with wood and build a fire with our hands, The smoke starts to rise, the moon starts to shine, You bring the weed, we'll bring the whiskey and the wine And we can pass it all around, until it's all gone, Put a message in the bottle, put the cork back on. We'll throw it in the sea, the message it will read, If you find this don't send help, send another bottle please! And we'll sing but just as loud as we please. But and we will be, forever so free, So come follow me, cabin by the sea. Picture you and me, in the cabin by the sea. You paint the fence, I'll hang the tire from the tree. Our friends are all around, and the storm was a no show, Said we look better in the black and white photo. Picture you and me in the cabin by the sea. Sit up on a porch and we can burn a couple trees. Our friends are all around and the storm was a no show, Said we looked better in the black and white photo. What the photograph don't show, Is where we're headed tomorrow, And when we have to go, we'll always be together in the black and white photo. (ooh ooh, ooh ooh) Say we look better in the black and white photo. And when the sun goes down, We can start a fire to sit around. When the sun goes down, We can start a fire, start a fire. When the sun goes down, We can start a fire to drink around. When the sun goes down, We can start a fire, start a fire. When the sun goes down, We can start a fire to sing around. When the sun goes down, We can start a fire, start a fire.
